This is more of just my way of posting a discussion board for what I think the Sens should be looking at, especially as a consensus concept here is the Sens trading for Boeser, but I think that Garland is a better fit for the needs of the Sens.

You can ignore contract stuff for the other players and whatnot, that's just me quickly getting through those so I can fill out the roster.

Not sure on Garland's exact value but I figured it was somewhere around a 1st. Also not sure on his availability considering Vancouver's recent success so I figured a slight overpay might be in order to pry him out. But the idea here is that with the Sens moving Batherson to play on Stützle's wing and Timmy developing really rapidly, that line no longer has a hole on the right side. The empty space at RW would now be on the 1st line with Tkachuk and Norris, and that isn't a line that needs another goal scorer added. I figured Garland would be a better fit on that 1st line, and Stützle has been playing really well with Batherson and I'd rather not break up that chemistry. You could say to just move Batherson back to the 1st line, but at this point with Stützle's development, I think he needs to be learning to trust his own shot more, and giving him a bit of a pure sniper like Boeser might discourage that. Plus Garland will be a cheaper option as the Sens need to lock in Norris, Stützle and Sanderson over the next couple years.
