My brother in christ I implore you to do some research into the both the value difference between a late first and pick 36 and the Wild’s cap situation and recent reporting.

I have and I know the wild cap situation. seeing how teams will pay a 3rd rounder to move up 2-4 spots in the 1st round it is a tremendous value. so moving up from 36 into anywhere that starts lower than 30 has value to the team lots of value. doesnt mean they make the right pick but it is highly valued.

“Sure he’s producing at an NHL equivalent of 64 points this year but he was picked in the 5th soooooo”

/also/ I was talking about pick 36. This conversation is making me dumber by the message

you know those conversion from KHL to NHL really only hold for all start players right.. ask oilers fans about KHL goalie of the year Mikko koskienen and how that translated over....

And yes I do feel you about the dumber by the message considering every post i have seen agrees with my side and i have not seen one in support of yours.....

You have to know that using a goalie as an example of KHL translation is extremely disingenuous.

Gritsyuk is currently having the 5th best age 20 season in KHL History, by points per game. Better than Panarin and Buchnevich, but behind Tarasenko, Kaprizov and Kuzy. He’s an excellent prospect regardless of where he was drafted.

This is literally the devils 3rd best prospect and the functional equivalent to a late first. Also how the hell can they trade him at the deadline if they can’t pay him lol

Also how many teams can even afford the 7M he’s getting? Lol

A prospect who would be in ahl with Minnesota and wouldn't make team because wild are stacked there. A bunch of team's including ottowa wants fiala. Just because you think something doesn't make it true

I said as much that Ottawa likely beats this offer. If Dorion wants to offer a high 22 first or unprotected 23 first + good prospects, that’s his prerogative. But this is not a nothing offer and thinking it is is a failure to read the cap situation, strength of Gritsyuk of a prospect, and the relatively equal value between early firsts and late seconds.

You don't know the cap situation. Wild fans and Guerin does. You selected the guy in 5th round and to now say he has the value of 1st round pick is widely exxageraion. So yeah, it's a nothing offer

The vast majority of mid to late first round forwards (say 16th to 32nd OA) don’t produce at the rate Gritsyuk is currently producing in their respective leagues at age 20. The valuation of a 1st rounds varies wildly from 1st to 32nd and Gritsyuk currently is, at the very least, close to that 32nd in value of not higher.

I mean just go through the 2019 NHL Draft right now, look at picks 16 through 31. Gritsyuk right now is a better prospect than all but like 7 of them (Newhook, Krebs; Heinola, Bjornfot, Tomasin, McMichael, Pelletier)

You're not getting Fiala without a 1st round pick going back, Unless you're throwing your top prospect in which you're clearly not since Luke Hughes isn't included.

Clearly you don’t know who Gritsyuk is

how do you make that equivalent its arbitrary.... he was a 5th round pick having a great season.... that doesnt make him the value of a 1st...

also as for the 7 million I think may teams have shown they can get creative... no one thought VGK could get eichel and his 11M!! but that happened....

Wasnt Kaprizov also a 5th round that played well in the KHL? Why were Wild fans saying he’s gonna be good because apparently KHL doesn’t equal NHL? If you’re gonna use that logic, don’t biased

Y’all so so biased
Wasn’t Kaprizov also a late round pick from the KHL that developed into a superstar?

This could not be more wrong.

The KHL is the closest league skill wise to the NHL. The transition from a larger ice surface to a smaller one is FAR FAR FAR easier than the skill transition from the AHL or any juniors leagues.

It’s not my trade. You’re talking about Gritsyuk as if he’s nothing at all when clearly you know nothing about the season he’s putting up. And you clearly don’t understand the value of late first round picks and the propects that get taken in those picks. If you actually compare those prospects at age 20, to Gritsyuk right now, Gritsyuk is right in there with a lot of them. Better than some, not as good as others. Not sure why you think that logic is faulty, other than you being too stupid to understand it
