Description
I don't personally know a lot about the team but with the good season they are having right now, I just thought I would try my best to improve to team. The team it self is in good shape and I don't think it's needs a lot more than they already have

    Something around Steel+ for Monahan

Also no chance they sign Chiarot to that overpay when Kylington deserves to be in the top 4 and is better. They will probably just bring back Gudbranson for cheap and bring Valimaki back up

It was funny when you put a "+" there. You can either have a bad contract in exchange for Monahan, or you can pay to free up that space. Zero reason for Anaheim to give up anything for an overpaid, underperforming player with 1 year left on his contract.

I can't tell if you are trolling or not, Monahan just got his other hip fixed in surgery so saying he is overpaid is a bit up in the air when he has proven to be be worth that contract multiple times. He is a proven leader and well respected as a dressing room presence. You would be acquiring him to mentor your young team. It's already been reported that there is a lot of interest around the league in Monahan, he will probably get a positive return. Steel is not worth much at all and the + is like a mid pick at most

Monahan has had 3 straight sub par seasons, and the hip surgery just adds to it. Why the heck would someone come along and say "Oh hey, leadershipzzzz...don't worry about the back to back season ending surgeries, we should totally save Calgary from that cap hit!". In Anaheim's case, they've already got Fowler, Rico, and a number of other veteran players that I'm sure will be just fine.

I don't get why fans on here just absolutely drag players from other teams across the coals and scream "cap dump!", but when it comes to their own players, they're aBsOlUtElY nOt CaP dUmPs. The bias is loud and clear.

Lucic is a cap dump, nobody is ever arguing that.

But when there is literally reports from insiders saying there is a lot of interest in Monahan then they probably see value in him. Freaking Ristolainen returned a 1st + 2nd + roster player and he was widely considered an "overpaid plug" on here and other boards. Monahan has only 1 year left and a good resume. Plus he's still in his prime

Risto wasn't coming off back to back season ending hip surgeries...GM's have proven time and time again that big, slow, dumb RD's that hit tears of joy. I'll have some of what you're smoking if you're convinced that Monahan is still in his prime after two hip surgeries tears of joy

He is in his prime age wise. The hip surgeries are worrisome of course, that isn't a question. GM's have also shown time and time again what they will pay for current or former top 6 centers. Duchene and Turris come to mind (same trade), Carter, the Hayes contract, Pageau, Brassard three times, Stepan, Vermette
