I'm embarrassed for you

Dadanov trade is the only remotely acceptable move here.

I'm not the OP but I'm very curious to see Philly fans' take on this trade. I was bantering with fellow Wings fans about something like this over the weekend (centered around Bert + for Sanheim + 1st +). I was thinking something like Bert + 2nd (maybe + Erne or another bottom 6er) for Sanheim + Lindblom + 1st (top 10 protected).

sharks decline, we can get more for him and we would only trade Reimer to a cup contender if we’re out of the playoffs. most likely Hill would be available over Reimer and a 3rd would be fair.

either works. i assume sharks would want to keep hill because he's younger.

Rather keep Sanheim and the first. Flyers need all the draft picks they can get.

Guy is not a Wings fan so take thses trades with a grain of salt.

Petry will.not get that kind of offer from Yzerman. Wings have Hronek and Seider on RH side, need to spend on LH defenseman.

Betuzzi is good but I don't think he is going to get all that.

Vegas trade has merit but Yzerman until.now only has taken on cap when it benefits him, positionally. Stall needed LHD and Leddy needed LHD. Can not see him taking Petry's deal as it is not needed positionally.

petry can get that type of return. veleno's development has been underwhelming and we've seen what dman go for. just look at what yzerman paid for a much worse nick leddy. agree the wings need ld which is why i went and got 2 of them. wings have been on the receiving end of many blowouts this season. d needs to take top priority.

bertuzzi trade can be adjusted. sanheim will obviously be part of the return.

vegas deal makes a lot of sense for detroit they have the room and need. the pick replaces some of the picks they moved out.

Granted Petry might get that kind of return, just not from Wings. Yzerman again has addressed needs, when taking on bigger contracts. Petry is not a need but a luxury. Stevie needs to get LHD and no Charoit at 4 years goes against what Yzerman has preached since day one as GM. Patience and flexibilty.

Veleno has not played all that great but as has been said he is young and might grow into a star. Taking on 6 million for a guy who wi either the 2nd line defenseman or 3rd line defense man is not good cap management

petry is a need. wings have been blown out like a half dozen times or more this season. also wings made a similar trade for leddy so i dont by the rational that they wouldn't do petry. chariot fills a need and still leave wings with flexibility. with this roster the wings have almost $8m in space this season and almost $44m next. how is there no flexibilty.

veleno might be a star but he might be a bust too. this season has been underwhelming for his development. petry isn't a 3rd line dman. he'd be the 3rd best on this team or the 2nd best on detroits current team.

Wow, you really don't understand how trades work in the NHL.

Yzerman is going to get rid of a 22 year old solid C prospect for a 34 year old overpaid Dman.....? In the middle of a rebuild....with Seider and Hronek on the right side already.....? LOL my lord.

LOLOLOL....this is just too good

Leddy was a 2 year stop gap and all we gave up was a 2nd rounder and Panik, who we got for Mantha. This is in no way comparable to Veleno for Petry

yes. because it's been 6 years since the playoffs and accepting losing isn't a rebuild. wings defense is horrible and has been blown out several times this year. how much development do you think went on in detroits 11-2 loss last night. players check out in those games. on top of that velelos development hit a snag this year, he's underperformed. he's an ok prospect. while i agree petry is overpaid he's a vast improvement on the wings defense. you want you're young players to develop, keep them in the game. having petry on the team will help everyones development. he can mentor young bluelines and get the puck to the young forwards. you just want to sit around and play the lottery.

As someone who clearly doesn't watch the Wings, you shouldn't be commenting on Veleno's development.

This trade is one of the most illogical things I've seen recently on this site...try again.

6 years is not very long....the rebuild really just started and the Wings have a plethora of young exciting players in the NHL and soon to be in the NHL...this is nonsense.

i've seen a few of their games this year. did you watch them last night? can you give me a break down of their defense? they are currently the worst defense in the league. also where do you think veleno slots in next year.

i’m personally torn, Hill has shown a lot of promise but has issues glove hand, and i love what Reimer provides us combined with a younger Goalie. Kohkenen to me just has more upside in our system than Hill.

You're right - one bad game for a rebuilding team results in "lets trade our promising young players for 34 year old DMen"

LOL

How do you figure they are the worst D in the league?
