Did you miss that Habs are taking on Monahan entire contract, are retaining cap on Lekhonen and Armia as well as two draft picks. You want Suzuki, not gonna happen, how will you be able to pay him next season and sign your UFA's. If you were to buy out Monahan next season he costs a little over 2million for two seasons...essentially with 900k retention you are getting Armia for 500K a season until his third year. Along with the cap space for the trade deadline...it gives Calgary the best chance at a cup this season.

I would rather have mony as our 4th line center for the cup run this year and trade him in the off season rather then make this trade. We dont need lehkonen or armia. Making this trade would do what BT has been saying he doesnt wanna do and thats to f*ck up team chemistry by making a trade. This trade surely does that. Pelletier isnt getting traded otherwise hed be apart of the toffoli trade.
