The Lehkonen one is more than fair.

For an RFA with insane defensive stats and a great transition game while on a mediocre team who is liked by pretty much every coach hes been with and who can play up and down the lineup with almost anyone. Yes a 1st and a 3rd is more than fair for him. If he was 3 years younger for the same stats he probably would've gotten more than Hagel.

What? Hagel had 21 goals through his first 55 games in his second season, with similar intangibles, and then theres the contract to consider. Hagel is a very very very bad comparison. About the worst you could find.

Now, in a vacuum, it really does look like the rental market has been reset this year, so maybe the request is…i don’t want to say reasonable, because its not…but lets say close. But this isn’t a vacuum, and every seller needs a buyer.

Who is this buyer that you think would be willing to give up a 1st and a 3rd?

Hagel shooting 23% is somehow sustainable and he's done so for less than a season. i get his contract is great but that was the definition was selling high. Lehkonen is a better player in any large sample size. They are quite comparable. Makes me laugh when ppl dont get that this is the market. very few decent young middle 6 forwards with team control available with a low AVV, Hagel and Lehkonen are those forwards which creates an inflated market

Cant predict the future, but I could see either the Rags, Caps, or Avs be the final 3 in the running. I know both the Caps and Avs were interested in him a few years ago too so I would not be surprised if they made a splash for him, especially considering both of them have been pretty quiet so far.

Its worth noting that the Habs are definitely not getting less than a 1st for him, it seems like they really only want to trade him if the return is good enough, and there isnt much of a rush in doing so compared to someone like Chiarot (UFA Rental vs RFA).

That Hagel trade definitely set the market for depth wingers, and its proving that this deadline is a buyer's market. If you go back into my trades, I valued Lehkonen at around as Kravstov (high 1st/low 2nd). I would still personally be happy with that return now, but underwhelmed, just like the Toffoli trade.

I’m not sure the caps are adding. Their GM has seemed to figure out that they just aren’t a contender this year. If they make one add, it will probably be a goalie. Definitely not moving a first rounder in any scenario.

The rangers and aves are two teams that i could absolutely see having interest. But both have other holes to fill, particular the aves. I don’t think they’re going to spend the capital on a third line winger.

We'll see. Everything I say about these picks also include swapping them out for the equivalencies (Prospect worth a 1st for example). Rags do need help on 5v5 and the PK, so Lehkonen should be a higher priority asset in that regard. Colorado could also use that depth from what it looks like.

Now for the opinion, the Caps should still try to push as far into the playoffs as possible while they still can with their core. The timeline is closing in on them pretty fast.

The rangers should also know that this isn’t their year, but who knows. They might bite.

The rangers should also know that this isn’t their year, but who knows. They might bite.

With how Shesterkin is playing, they have to make a push. A major part of the TDL are the politics in play. Many moves are also made for PR and to make fans come in and watch. If you see a team not make a move, doubt the fans and/or media would like that.

Don’t even answer most of these guys. Most of them said I was crazy when I traded Chiarot for a lower 1st pick.. Yet he got a 1st, 4th and a prospect.

Because most dont comment and say that looks reasonable as most here simply like to be part of a troll community. Nobody happy actually goes out of their way to say good job. They are too busy being happy rather than being bothersome. Trust me those guys that have nothing good to say are never changing their tune. They are miserable in real life. Id say just update your ignore list but this forum just attracts the outcasts.

I know.. And if you reply to them indicating they are trolls they get their buddies to send messages to the site managers and get your GM teams removed, and you get a notification that you’re not complying with site rules.

Some good exchanges are so good, you know the “I see what you’re doing but I think this may be more suitable..” or “I think that team would not go there, but this other one may be interested..” .. but that hardly happens anymore..

And yes I add them to the ignore list.. like that CMcAvoy guy.. he’s on it.. LOL!!

Most likes are given to the first respondent that says anything remotely clever or sarcastic. Ppl that put others down are the celebrities here. Absolutely meaningless and vapid.

Normally I dont, but there was actually a discussion this time as opposed to an argument filled with ad hominems, it was fun talking about it.

Hey, we stand corrected, I posted that Kulak would go anywhere for a 1st or 2nd round draft pick plus a prospect.

Guess our expectations were right on point. 2nd round plus a prospect.. But you now.. Mcfly there is always right trolling other people's Armchair Deals.. LOL!

OMG.. just spit out my coffee.. Lek to Colorado, for guess what .. Justin Barron (1st draft pick 2020 with lots of potential) AND a 2nd round pick 2024.. Again.. Our expectations were too high! LOL!

We win! THat's what happens when you know the value of players. Gotta say I never saw Colorado in the picture for him. Was thinking more like NYR or NASH. But not colorado. That's a surprise.

The Kulak trade was an insane overpayment imho, but the Lehkonen trade was a little bit underwhelming.. but I also need to look into how good Barron is projected to be.

Barron seems like a good prospect. So it’s gonna be a bit long term but should be good.

As far as Kulak.. well.. you pay more when no other choice is on the market.
