Wow so 4 1sts for Cat? Is the 2022 protected? If anything you should make it top 2 protected. But if I'm the GM and my plan is to burn it to the ground, then yes. I'd agree to this. My heart says no though :-P

If the offer is truly Smith, Holtz and 2 firsts, I'd even be OK if NJD asked for another D to cover. Someone like Kalynuk or Beaudin or Mitchell.

Saw another post with Smith involved, depends if they want a guy that's already in the NHL or wait a few years for a guy with more potential. I'm fine giving them either.

The reason I offered a D replacement is because in the scenario of Holtz, Smith, 1st and 1st...it heavily favors Chicago and a D prospect that is fringe NHLer and young is to balance. If you replace a 1st with a 4th, I'm not interested in adding in Mitchell.
