Yeah, I pay close attention to him. He's absolutely done. Slow, can't defend and he's more of Alex in terms of getting in on offense at times. You don't want him out there defending

Leddy have weaknesses when it comes to defending and needs to be paired with someone that can cover for him. If you can support him with the correct pairing then this isn't an overpay. He's a really good skater and puck transporter that can QB a PP. Just don't expect him to be a defensive pillar.

Detroit would ideally like to get a 2nd round pick for him but this is acceptable due to not using any retention slot which helps their other trades.

Thanks, that’s useful feedback. My idea would be to pair him with Spurgeon, who can definitely help cover defensive deficiencies. Leddys skating is precisely the reason I looked at him.

IMO, MN needs an upgrade. I’m not sure if Leddy is the answer or not, but he seems like a low risk option that has playoff experience and can still move well.

If you think Leddy is slow then obviously haven't "paid close attention to him". That pretty much invalidates everything else you have to say about him. Ask the Islanders and Barry Trotz if they miss him. You sound suspiciously like a couple of other Wild fans on here; must be a coincidence.

I watched him. He's a former gophers player. So I always pay attention to their career. He's no longer good and can't play d to save his life
