If that's the price for Mayfield, I don't see NSH having much interest.

Isles should be able to get more then a 5th for Clutter with retention. A 3rd for Clutter @ 50% make sense. Parise could probably fetch and 3rd or 4th as well

A 2nd and a c level spec isn’t much for mayfield, farrance is turning 23 and is not doing good in the AHL at all I mean he does have solid potential but Nashville needs a defensive depth badly if they want to a solid playoff run

I definitely think you're selling Farrance short, if you think of him as a C level prospect. He's just in his first pro season, and still considered one of NSH's better defensive prospects. Regardless, a 2nd and a prospect is too much for a #6 defenseman upgrade. Mayfield would be nice to have, but a luxury at that price. Teams with holes in their top four might be more willing to meet your price.

Obviously we disagree on Farrance but I consider Mayfield very similar value to Manson and I think he’d help Nashvilles d core a lot could definitely be their 4-5th best d man on that team I don’t think he would be a “6th defenceman upgrade”

Last part is nail on the head - I think that the value is right but Nashville is a bad fit. Mayfield and his $1.45M cap hit for this year & next are more valuable to a team that wants to upgrade their top 4 but doesn't have the cap room; Nashville with their $10+M in cap space right now doesn't really fit that profile. But yeah, a 2nd & a B-level prospect (or a 1st straight up) is what it should take to pry Mayfield out of the Islanders.

He wouldn't be bumping Fabbro or Carrier out of the top four, so yes in NSH's case Mayfield would be coming in to be an upgrade on their #6 or 3rd pair RD (Benning). As I said, NYI would likely be better off moving him to a team that has defensive needs higher up the roster. The extra year on his contract would likely be an asset for other teams too. I'm not convinced that's the case in NSH.
