Description
Boeser for Marino has been something I've seen a lot recently. Wondering if this would be interesting for the Pens. Would it take someone like Rosen to get this deal done, or would a 2nd, Colin Miller(replacement at RD), and Ollofson who I think would really produce next to Malkin or Crosby be enough to entice the Pen's to move on from Marino. Then Anderson to upgrade their D, sabres then send DeSmith to minors.

I think Miller and Marino are pretty similar hockey players and miller could be a good replacement for him, add Ollofson you gain an offensive threat, and help for your second powerplay and then a second, which is basically a first.

I honestly think people undervalue Marino too much
Also it depends on letang if he retires or something Marino is there number one
And honestly even if letang stays they’d have no number 2 on the right side

people definitely undervalue him, that's why i mentioned rosen above.
definitely
if Miller resigned cheap or they got another option with the second that could work.

If I had to choose between this deal and one of the insane Vancouver deals (I.e Boeser, Horvat, or Garland) I’d take one of vancouvers deals.

Buffalo you’re looking at Tuch, a top 10 protected 1st, and Jokiharju for Marino and Kapanen. And that’s probably just the starting point to get into the coversation. The more in on Marino, the higher his price will go up. Young top 4 RHD with term and a great contract will already be high to start with.

Tuch is way more valuable than Marino, if Marino produced offense it would be a different story.

Not really. A top 4 RHD is more valuable than a top 6 winger. And Marino plays defense. His job is to play defense, not score. If Tuch was like an Eichel, Matthews, or even like a JT Miller then I’d be inclined to agree with you. But considering all of the circumstances and the fact that young Top 4 RHD with term on great contracts don’t fall into your lap everyday. It’s basic supply and demand.

Tuch is a first line right wing, Marino is a 2RD on most teams. Not sure that the term's top 4 and top 6 really tell the whole story.

Tuch is a 1st line wing on a terrible team like Buffalo. Just like Marino would be Buffalo’s top pair RHD. So yeah, top 6 winger and top 4 defenseman totally tell the whole story. In Pittsburgh Tuch would be on the second line. Top liner would be at least a PPG player if not more. Tuch kinda fits into that great second liner that could fill in on the top line and still be good. Marino is a great 2nd pair d that could fill in on a top pair and still be good.

In Pittsburg Tuch's still the #1 RW, he's better than Rust if he was with Crosby.

No he isn’t. In Pittsburgh they would never split up that 1st line. I’m sorry facts hurt your feelings but you asked what it would take then don’t like the responses. If you don’t like it then don’t ask lol. I get fans tend to be homers but yikes on that take lol.

Of course you don't break up a line that works, and I'm not offended by your post but we are talking about Alex Tuch, your asking for the same return almost we got for Eichel for Marino. Marino is a 2nd pair defensemen, Alex Tuch is a first line RW, im sorry if it hurts you feeling to tell you that Tuch is better than Rust...they might be very equal but Tuch's younger on a better deal and I don't see how he would even be considered in a trade with Marino unless you where seriously adding to him, not just adding Kapanen and getting back another Top4 RD and a first. And asking what people think does not mean that I have to agree with your opinion or that you should expect that, i would hope you could see these things.

It doesn’t hurt my feelings for you to claim Tuch is better than Rust. If you want to show signs of stupidity then go for it. I won’t stop you lol. As for getting a similar return I mean it’s not that similar. You guys got an unprotected 1st, conditional 2nd, Tuch, and a top prospect for a disgruntled Eichel who was damaged goods on a 10 million dollar cap hit that wanted experimental surgery. I’m asking for Tuch a protected 1st, and a 3rd pair RHD that hopefully will jump up to 2nd pair status to replace Marino but is a downgrade. For Marino and Kapanen who is a middle 6 winger.

Jokiharju is already a second pair RD, the first we got from vegas was also top 10 protected like this one. Kapanen holds no value to the sabres although he is a nice piece. I just think that even if tuch is similar or even slightly worse that Rust his value is way more than Marino's to the Sabres organization, he's the next captain IMO. I'd be willing to give up some top prospect's though...it would hurt but could be done. Think the untouchables are Power, Levi, Quinn...and possible Peterka.

I doubt there’d be a trade then. Can’t see the pens being interested in futures for Marino when they are trying to get 1 or 2 more cups for Crosby before he retires. Marino holds more value to the pens than Tuch would. Especially if Letang doesn’t re-sign. Regardless whether you believe Jokiharju is a 2nd or 3rd pair, he definitely isn’t a 1st pair 25+ minute guy.
Again it’s supply and demand. Jokiharju may be a top 4 d in Buffalo but would he be that on a good team? I don’t think so. And a top 4 d is a lot harder to find on the open market or trade, especially a right handed one, than a top 6 forward whether it be a 1st liner or 2nd liner. Neither of these teams are exactly desperate to trade Marino or trade for Marino but Marino seems to be drawing a lot of interest. At least from fans of many teams.
