Oh wait, you guys don't like a deal that doesn't make sense? Well, stop trading for Marino, because that also makes no sense for the Pens. This is a good taste of your own medicine.

Pens accept.

You're the only one constantly crying about every Marino-Boeser trade. There's literally one made by a Pens fan on the first page.

Oh, so that means he's smart, right? Yeah, I'm crying about actually using critical thinking to evaluate the effects of trades on a team. WEIRD!!!

Think about this logically for a moment.

1) Could the Pens use a top six/middle six upgrade? Sure. Do they desperately need one? No.
2) The Pens are a playoff team
3) The Pens are a top ten defensive team in the NHL and Marino is a major part of that. He's our #2 RHD after Letang and after him it's Chad Ruhwedel and Mark Friedman, so moving Marino now makes Chad Ruhwedel our #2 RHD meaning if Letang goes down, Chad Ruhwedel is now our #1 RHD. Do you see how that could potentially be a problem for a playoff-bound team?

Looking at that logic, regardless of how much scoring someone like Miller or Boeser may bring, do you understand the terrible ripple effect moving Marino would have on our team? How bad our defense instantly becomes?

I don't care if a hundred Pens fans trade Marino on here, that doesn't make it the right thing to do. A little critical thinking goes a very long way.

Wrong. The Pens so no.... EASILY. They're not going to wreck their defense having Chad Ruhwedel become their #1 RHD if Letang gets hurt. Stupid.

It’s amazing how mad they get when Marino isn’t involved in the trade lol. Even though almost everybody that isn’t a Canucks fan (and even a couple Canucks fans) all say that Marino would and should definitely be too much. You’d think with how much they spam the Boeser for Marino, Garland for marino, Horvat for marino trades with everyone else saying Marino was a non starter and then pens fans trading for those players with other assets and Canucks fans saying only marino or it’s a no deal that they’d go after other teams too 4 dmen then. But they insist on spamming with nonsense trades instead lol.

They have become as bad as the bad MTL and TOR fans on here. I just can't grasp why they think it's so hard to use a little critical thinking when composing a trade. I get that it's all make believe, but at least try to put some thought into it. Also, when they say "well I saw other fans doing it" as if they're citing real world experts for their basis lol

Like use some common sense! Why would a team sell of a major piece that hurts them? Who in their right mind would think Chad Ruhwedel is a suitable replacement for Marino?

I legit said that in another post. Great we trade our number 2 RHD in the offseason for a more expensive player making it even less likely we re-sign Letang making Ruhwedel our number 1 RHD. They tried saying that Garland, Boeser, or Horvat makes the pens better even if it’s at the expense of Marino. It’s just mind boggling. Idk about anyone else but I’d rather win games 4-1 or 4-2 instead of losing games 8-6 cause our offense may slightly upgrade but defense takes a major downgrade lol
