Description
Im talking to all of you who go straight to capfriendly to trade away half the team every time we lose. From what we have seen in the past few years, winning in the reguylar season hasnt affected how we play in the playoffs, so why would losing? At the end of the day, the bottom 6 has been poor, the D has been poor structurally, and the goaltending has been poor. Trading for a couple of guys isn't going to change any of that. We are experiencing the same issues we face in the playoffs and that is whats going on in the heads of our players. Idk wht Keefe needs to do to fix it but he needs to do something.
As for the lineup, Muzzin being injured has really shown us how bad Rielly is defensively without Brodie so we need them back together ASAP. Sandin and Lyubushkin have played well enough to deserve 2nd pairing minutes. Robertson definitely added the fire that the 2nd line needed but not sure why Keefe benched him at the end of the game. Kerfoot should be on the 3rd line he adds nothing to the 4th. Engvall's size fits the 4th line perfectly.
When it comes to the goalies, man, we need to hope and pray that one of them can find their game. There is just no goalie on the market that is better than either of them(Yes including Fleury).

Holy **** A guy with sense where we need more like this in our nation lul.

Like honestly for the people bashing Campbell

He was fine tonight. GOT 0 HELP IN FRONT OF HIS NET

Dubas was right we need another defenseman. One who knows how to play the puck, guard the net, and play 20+ mins a night. Someone who can allow for Brodie to go back to playing with Rielly who has been with Sandin and Liligren and those 2 pairings have been awful.

This is Dubas' last season as a Leafs GM if he doesn't get the Leafs past the first round. I expect an entire new regime, with new staff, to take over next season. I want a GM who values physicality mixed in with skill. Leafs need a Brady Tkachuk type of player

To slow and hes a rental

Were gonna need a guy with term, speed, size, defensive knowledge, etc. Basically someone who fits our playstyle

He unfortunately does not. Only thing he would be beneficial for is net front coverage but everything else would drive us mad.

I have some off-season moves in mind. But I’d make them whether we win or lose.
That doesn’t matter much right now though.

I think our forwards are good enough to figure their sh-t out. I’d take a peak at Comtois (who’s on the block), and maybe Jarnkrok (you’ll understand in a sec), but otherwise that’s not where we NEED to improve.

Defence. Oh boy. It’s not even that it’s bad, but it allows too many guys out front. How many goals tonight were tipped or on the door step? All of them I think. We have to do something there. A guy who’s main focus is playing defence.
Of the guys on the market, the most intriguing, to me, is Mark Giordano. On a terrible Seattle team, he’s still just so solid. He’s also at a point where he could be re-signed for fairly cheap, in his hometown (Toronto) where he has a long-time teammate in TJ Brodie.

Giordano + Jarnkrok would be nice.
Giordano + McCann would be really nice. That’s more of a pipe dream though.

Back to tonight… I don’t blame Jack entirely. The defence has got to be better.
I will say this however, at some point you just need a save.

Next game, I’d go to this:
Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Robertson - Tavares - Nylander
Mikheyev - Kampf - Kerfoot
Engvall - Spezza - Simmonds

Rielly - Holl
Brodie - Lyubushkin
Dermott - Liljegren

Mrazek
Campbell

this is under the assumption that Kase is not back (he was moved to IR earlier) and Sandin is still out.
If Sandin is back I’d do this for a game:
Brodie - Lyubushkin
Rielly - Holl
Sandin - Liljegren

Mark Giordano would help this so much lol

This exactly, a top 4 D should be our top priority at the deadline, preferably one with decent speed to play alongside Muzzin.

I have really liked Liljegren's development this season but he is just not ready for top pairing minutes, keep him on the 3rd pairing for now.

Nobody can blame the loss on Campbell tn. He definitely could have saved a couple but the net needed clearing.
