Ya, you’re probably right. 4th or 5th. Nice, cheap, 3rd pairing, or 7th/8th RHD depth for a contending team.

I don’t know why a team would need that much D-man depth as I have in this ACGM; with Wideman, Friedman, Rikkola and PO-J. But I like Wideman as depth.

Pens line-up is getting alittle stale. Especially their 4th line. Actually just D.Simon and ZAR. Even though ZAR is on pace for 200 plus “hits” this season. Has 167 in just 43 games so far this season. That’s actually pretty elite.

Either way, Can’t wait for Blueger to get back. Pens need to give OConnor, Zohorna, Angello, Bjorkqvist a run at PT in place of ZAR and D.Simon for some games too.

What's been happening with Evan Rodrigues ?
Why's he been underwhelming?

Not so much. Wasn’t given an opportunity until this season and he has 16 goals and 35 points in 57 games. Gonna be a 20 goal scorer.

He was playing a lot on the 2nd line when Sid and Geno were injured. It was Guentzel/JeffCarter/Rust and Heinen/E-Rod/Kappy 2nd line.

I like E-Rod as a Center better than a wing. He did play a lot better at Center. And him and Kappy played really well together early in the season too.

But mainly his ice time has just gone down. Now Guentzel/Sid/Rust, Heinen/Geno/Kappy, McGinn/Carter/E-Rod.

Sully did try Heinen/Geno/Carter and McGinn/E-Rod/Kappy for acouple games. But quickly switched back.

He’ll play better when Zucker gets back too and it’s a Zucker/Carter/E-Rod 3rd line.

Do you think he was producing due to being carried?
Was he off the 1st pp unit?

He’s not the fastest, not the biggest, not the best shot, not best stick handler. But he has a knack for finding the open spot, getting to the net and finding bouncing pucks and then the back of the net. So I guess so. I guess you need good linemates when you are a player like that.

His Senior years in college at Boston U, he was on a line with Eichel. He scored 21 goals and had 61 points in 41 games..lol. So I guess so.

He played really well having Kappy and Heinen on his line. But that’s Geno’s wings now. And like I said, when Zucker comes back and it’s Zucker/Carter/E-Rod he should pick it up again. That’s a good 3rd line.

I like
Zucker - Carter - E-Rod

Better than

Heinen - Malkin - Kapenen
tbh

I dont. But it’s a really good 3rd line. Heinen has played ridiculously well this season. And Kappy has struggled most of the season but he’s super talented. It’s hard to not notice how talented he is while he’s on the ice. And then Geno is just a bully.

I’d take Kappy over E-Rod every day of the week and so would any Pens fan I think. Kappy is just super talented. Super fast, wicked wrist-shot, great playmaker. Just in the doghouse right now; hasn’t played great. But had 30 points in 40 games last season with the Pens. .75PPG.

And Zucker and Heinen are very similar. Id probably still take Zucker, even though Heinen has played great this season. But Zucker hasn’t played well with Geno and Heinen has. Zucker has played better with Carter.

I've heard kappy is a defensive liability and is lazy.
Any truth to that?

Not at all. Good 200 foot player. And “hits” a lot too. He’s very physical. Was a really good PK player for Toronto. Was on their top PK line.

But the Pens don’t use him in PK cause they have Dumoulin, Pettersson, Letang, Marino, ZAR, Blueger, McGinn, Heinen, Carter , Sid, Rust that all get PK time. Kappy has good analytics and underlying defensive numbers.

Super talented player man. Undeniable when watching a Pens game. He stands out on the ice on most shifts. Offensively and defensively.

I don't think the value is much different between Zacha and Kap, but being that Kap has a hair under a $1m higher qualifying offer, not sure it makes sense to make the deal as the Devils.

Kappy’s QO next season is 840K. Zacha is 3M…What are u talking about??

Do u know how to use the menu, calculators, and “qualifying offers calculators” tool.??

Kappy has arbitration rights so he won’t just take the 875k. But he won’t get the 3.2M he got this season. Even if he takes it to arbitration. I’d say 2.25-2.75M. Which makes him cheaper than Zacha.

And Zacha’s QO next season is 3M. Which means they have to offer him 3M. He can negotiate for more, but the team can’t negotiate for less. So atleast 3M next season.
