      If Arizona is moving Crouse (who is a team leader for them) they will want futures. Barrie serves almost zero value to them.

      My thought process was that they want players with term and Barrie is a top 4 defenseman with 3 years left on his deal. Crouse is a third liner who has had a pretty good year so far. As an Oilers fan I agree Barrie isnt what he was last year and has lacked a bit defensivly but still hasnt been terrible. The third rounder was more to make up for that fact but I want aware the importance of him to the team. Would a 1 for 1 trade be more even?

      Why would they want players with term? Chychrun is literally on the market and has term. They 100% want futures and Barrie is anything but that.

      Crouse is a middle 6 player, he can easily play in on the 2nd line as an effective power forward, he's also still quite young and an RFA

      "Lacked a bit defensively" is a massive understatement for Barrie.

      I doubt they would even consider a 1 for 1, according to Friedman the ask is a 1st and prospect

      I had heard the Coyotes were looking to aquire some players with term as they only have 9 players signed past this season.

      Where? My understanding is they are going to promote a lot of young guys and probably take on some cap dumps for more assets again.

      Also you aren't counting their RFA's who really don't have much in terms of options besides re-signing with Arizona. And in this scenario it's still a net zero on contracts gained

      I would love to see Crouse on the Oilers. He is exactly the type of winger they need. But I agree, prospects and picks would have to be going back the other way.
      Crouse = Lavoie + 2nd rnd pick??
      Crouse = Savoie + 2nd rnd pick??
      Crouse = Lavoie + Konovalov(Zona needs goaltending) + 3rd rnd pick???
