That Miller trade is real bad. Unless someone still thinks Lafreniere could be a franchise winger. Even still sending a 1st as well is not acceptable.

Laf has all the potential to be a franchise winger. Playing on the top line with some other young stars can really light the spark in him. K'andre Miller is 5 times better than Rathbone. IMO the asking price is astronomical for Miller and their not gonna get as much as people are saying they will. I think a very recent 1st overall draft pick is a very good deal for an older top 6 winger. Miller has probably the rest of his current contract and maybe one more year of elite play left. Laf has his whole career ahead of him still.

Sure but Laf has literally shown us nothing since joining the NHL. He has been hugely underwhelming. So what are realistic expectations for him at this point? Can we even still say franchise winger is realistic? Based on what?

Rathbone has a lot of potential. I don't mind Miller but I think Rathbone can become a top 5 dman and pp qb in the league.

As for Miller I think he'll be pretty good for a while. He's just so versatile and he doesn't really rely on speed. Obviously all players begin to slow down in their 30s but he is currently 12th in NHL scoring and been all star level for 3 seasons straight.

The Canucks first could be 10th overall.
