Seems reasonable. Puljujarvi was probably looking at $5M + after his hot start, but pointless for a over a month doesn’t help his cause.
At the same time, his hot start was riding McDavids wing. It think long term at $4.5M is fair for both sides. I could also see him maybe betting on himself with a 1 or 2 year deal at like $3.5M AAV.

Yamo deal is fair. He’s literally been gifted top 6 minutes with Drai for a long-term look. Despite that, he goes on cold offensive streaks and never really produces more than that of a 3rd liner. I could see him being used as trade bait if he wants more, but the reality is he is a 3rd liner who is good on the pk and can play anywhere in the middle 6. A player like should be getting $3-4 but he is just too weak offensively to justify any more.

Yam my guess would be around 2.5 for 2 years.
Jp I think might break the bank a bit more because he is a big body that can skate very well his production did take a fairly big dip from the pace he started the year but was still contributing to plenty of scoring opportunities not sure how much that will hurt him in negotiations. This is also a situation where his agent can easily say the player already took a discount by agreeing to the second year of his current deal. As brilliant as that was for Holland it’s going to work against him here. Don’t expect it to be rough negotiations but expect the player to get paid his fair share I’d say in the range of 5.750 by 6 years slightly above Hyman and nuge because he’s a bit bigger and younger.

Really wouldn’t be shocked to see yam gone at deadline. His last negotiation ran into the season and he hasn’t really improved upon consistency enough to justify negotiating another deal. I like him but I have a funny feeling if he survives deadline fans will want him gone after the playoffs where size tends to matter even more.

I think McLeod will get $1mil per for 3 yrs. I think they should trade Benson, Yamo, Lagesson & Perlini at deadline.

Benson I wouldn’t move yet. He’s shown some really slick hands and if Kane walks in free agency and yam does end up dealt benson could become a top six option next year next to Leon. His production right now might not justify that opportunity but shouldn’t judge too much on that when he’s playing limited minutes with often times fringe players. IMO he’s put the work in to justify it.

I could see Holloway getting a good look at 3c. If Kane leaves as a ufa nuge likely gets moved back to left wing on one of the top lines because he is more experienced and reliable playing against top lines. Mcloed could play with Holloway making that third line skilled and fast. Benson can feed Leon the puck and deserves a real opportunity if he doesn’t work out there move Mcloed in his place and foegele with Holloway benson can go back to fourth line duties fighting for his job.

I think Nuge should be left at 3C, he plays so much better as a Centre.
The only gaurantees that i think should be on the roster next yr in the forward group are
Mcdavid
Drai
Nuge
Hyman
Pujli
Kane(do what they can to get him resigned)
McLeod
Foegle

Everyone else is available for trades or should be let go in the offseason.

I know how the fan base views kass but I could see him bouncing back very strong and becoming a lot more of the fan favourite he once was. Looking at the timeline of him being very effective to basically useless fair to question if Tippett was holding him back from playing to his strengths. Didn’t want playing on the edge risking suspensions or penalties. When kass was at his best in Edmonton woodcroft had front row seats for that period of time. Wouldn’t count him out just yet.

I would absolutely welcome that! The oilers can use all the grit they can get! If Kass gets back to his old self he makes the stay list for sure.
