Your 2nd post of Josh Bailey to Minnesota this morning: the 4th period comment was bs, a lie.

Minnesota has zero interest. We aren't taking on your cap dump or trading anything for a player who won't play on our team. Our beat writer even called out the fact the fourth period has zero idea about Minnesota's need, or cap

-I don't think Minny does that deal - they're carrying so much Parise/Suter dead cap that they aren't going to add another $5M forward without money going the other way.

-Edmonton isn't offering a prospect like that *and* 2 picks for a Varly/Greene package. Greene adds minimal value to a package, so maybe you could see Varly/Greene get back a 1st & a decent prospect but not someone from a team's top 5 prospects.

-Undervaluing Clutterbuck here. They have the room to retain on him so I think he gets a 3rd, maaayyyyybeeee a 2nd if someone gets desparate.

-Seattle isn't bailing us out with that kinda haul. They're a brand new team, so those picks are much much more valuable to them than a guy like Palmieri. I could potentially see Palmieri & a mid-round pick going there and getting back a 2 or a 3, but even that feels less likely than just keeping Palmieri.

-Vancouver fans can chime in to disagree, but I think that's an overpay for Boeser. He's a good winger, but you're giving them Mayfield(an established RD2 type who, at the very least, they flip for picks at next year's deadline), one of our better D prospects in Bolduc, *plus* a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd? That's not far off from the Eichel package, and Brock Boeser is not Jack Eichel. And even if you do that, he's not signing for $6.5M when he's already at $5.875M this year, his qualifying offer will probably be higher than 6.5 so why would he sign long-term for less?

-Also think you're really underselling what Manson & Rakell will get in free agency. Manson's already making $4.1M this year, I can't see him taking a 30% haircut after having another good season. Rakell is already at $3.8M this season and I could definitely see him pushing for more than a $200K raise on what'll probably be his last chance to earn big in his career.

Bolduc is a good prospect but doesn't help us as he shoots left, Mayfiled is a good 2nd par guy but doesn't fit the time line if we are moving Boeser it's to get a long term partner for Hughes and that's not in this trade, next years 1st will be late so not an over thrilling package

Even better, a trade where one side feels like it's giving up too much and the other side has no use for it, haha

Haha, I think the value would be fine if the players fit our needs more, but I just don't see us moving a core player unless it checks all boxes

Let's put it this way, I have zero interest in bringing Parise back to Minnesota. I would trade Peart and a 3rd for Parise 100 times over before considering making that trade for Bailey. Bailey isn't a center (which is what we actually need), his cap hit is very problematic for us beyond this season, and he's producing the same as Parise on a per 60 basis who is producing basically the same as he was last year when he was on our 4th line.
