I don’t think the Canes are really willing to give up Heimosalmi just yet, and the Canes are in no position to be trading roster dmen right now. Maybe when DeAngelo comes back this could work, and maybe Gunler instead of Heimosalmi, but right now this deal can’t be reached.

Value seems pretty fair/close.

My biggest want for them has been to fix the 2LW but now with injuries I think the more pressing situation is to bolster their blue line. If they go for another top 4 piece I doubt they’ll try to address 2LW since it’ll cost it a lot.

Totally get this reasoning but if we got Schenn back in this package, it would be really good right?

When DeAngelo comes back, Schenn can be a 6th/7th so we don't have to run out Chatfield or Keane and we still have Morrow, Keane, and maybe Honka if you want to count him as a good prospect. If we had to give up one of them in a package for a guy who has 175 points in his last 173 games with Vancouver, I'm pulling the trigger.

Value is fine from a Canes perspective, but with Smith out with a skull issue after taking a puck to the head and TDA out for a month with a midsection injury, they can't really afford to move on from Bear. Maybe throw in Schenn and blah from Carolina to make it work?
