Every trade I’ve seen with Morrow all the canes fans say he’s the next makar and is untouchable 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah pass on that. KK has proven to be good in a 4C role and not much else, not trading our 1C for a 4C

He's on pace to better Makar's development. That is true. This is why it has to be the right piece. A rental Hertl ain't it.

Agree he’s not a 1C and likely won’t ever be. But he’s also got way more value than a 4C. He probably slots in as a good middle 6 center and if you get the contract right could be valuable as he’s still young and seems to be developing well since coming to Canes. He’s played 4C predominately for us this year bc of circumstance and not performance. Canes just happen to be very deep this season at that position but he’ll get his shot next year and beyond assuming he isn’t traded and signs a reasonable extension.

I know they are super deep at C. What is his QO though? I don’t think he’s necessarily worth the what $6 mil he’s making now, I’m sure that QO is high

It’s roughly 6M. Totally agree and I think most fans and pundits around the league would agree he’s not worth that much. It’s been reported ever since the OS though that he’s going to sign to an extension below that QO. Seems like it would be in the 4x4 range which would be good value imo.

That seems much more reasonable, especially with the cap likely going up
