What has hart done to show he should have been a first rounder?

whatever you think of hart, he's better than a number of the guys on the list. mete and bellows and brown are barely nhl players, and the rest of the bottom 10 or so is just depth guys. i'd probably put kyrou ahead of him but otherwise he's in the right spot

Last season hart had arguably the worst season for a starting goalie in NHL history.

It was certainly the worst in the cap era.

If you just take a quick glance at the first two rounds, you can count 31 names easily that should be taken over hart. Plenty of guys beyond that.

he was terrible last year but has been a serviceable starting goalie each of his other three seasons. i've tried counting and here's the list i've come up with for guys that should have gone before hart: matthews, pld, laine, pulju, keller, sergachev, tkachuk, mcavoy, chychrun, debrincat, kyrou, fox, girard, lindgren, hronek

and some other NHL contributors i would probably rather have hart than: jost, tage (this is the only iffy one here for me, i love him personally and think will be good but he's only had one good season), howden, dube, bastian, mcleod, fabbro, kunin, bean, stanley, gustavsson, pitlick, mete, colton, i could go on but i feel like i've made the point.

there isn't even a whole first round full of solid NHL players from this draft, much less 31 guys you'd definitively take over a guy who at the very least is a solid nhl backup unless you don't think hart is an NHL player at all, which i think is ridiculous.

hart has been the best player on the flyers this year

If that’s the case (it certainly isn’t), that’s a sad statement about the flyers, rather than a good one about hart. He’s been very mediocre at the NHL leave.

Laine and DeBrincat over Tkachuk and McAvoy? Really?

Watch the 2019-2020 season and playoffs and the 2018-2019 season of carter hart. those seasons will show that he is a great goalie at the NHL level. He had one bad year and that was 2020-2021 bc he was overwhelmed of the crazy bubble thing. And the flyers are garbage this year and hart averages close to 40 shots a game and his save percentage is above a .910. He is a great goalie and in this draft, definitely should be at least a top 20 pick.

Calling it a, “bad year,” is the understatement of the century.

That's fair, "He had one atrociously bad year in 2020-2021".

And he hasn’t really had a great season yet. This year he’s been mediocre at best. First couple years were okay.
