Description
Team maybe look something like this next season? Perron 1 year deal for cheaper. Left some wiggle room, some players might need a bit more, also cap likely to go up which I didn't account for. Sets up well to resign Kyrou and Thomas.

You're living in the past, bud. Catch up. Besides, he was "offered for free" (not exactly accurate, but okay) for a specific reason, so they could steal Landeskog from Colorado.

That package probably doesn’t even get you Chychrun, and definitely not Crouse on top. Also your not dumping Tarasenko’s contract for two good prospects without taking any money back

This would be wrong. Landeskog was only the afterthought of moving Tarasenko, no the main reason for moving him.

You’re conveniently forgetting that he asked for a trade cause the organization hasn’t treated him right through multiple injuries. You’re forgetting that he came off shoulder surgery and had limited production in limited time over the 2 prior seasons. Teams weren’t offering anything of significant value even with 50% retention because they had concerns about his shoulder and his performance because of it. Not saying that St.Louis was “offering him for free” but they almost certainly tried to move him at a low cost because of the reasons here.

He was made available in the expansion draft, yes. And again, there was a method to this madness. There was a trade request at the time, concerns about his shoulder and free agency was still open with a specific aim in mind. The first thing is not an issue at the moment, the second is no longer an issue at all and the third stopped being an issue when Landeskog re-upped in Colorado. Just a point of order, and a pretty obvious one.

1- Uhh what now? It was the plan: either they get to keep Dunn or they lose Tarasenko and have the money to sign Landeskog. This is not a secret.

2- First of all, Army never offered him half-retained. I have no idea where got that from. And I'm not forgetting anything. The first two shoulder operations did not fix the problem, the third did. As we've seen all season long. And yes, Army listened to offers , none of which moved the needle. Saying they were willing to lose him for nothing last summer is no longer relevant, and that was my whole point.

He very well may still want a trade, but that is not all he said. You're being completely disingenuous by cherry picking one phrase from his whole statement. And that has nothing to do with the remark you made in the first place. Just never mind, I already made my point of order.

If you think Schneider is available for trade, you're the one living in the past.

The Tarasenko trade was just what I could think of, main point of it was just moving his contract. If Vladi keeps up his current pace, he will fetch a similar value in the off season. The Chychrun and Crouse trade is more than fair, if there is any hang up with it, it's something small like "we prefer this prospect or a different years pick". Scandella is not negative value, someone would take the chance on him for a pick. Sundqvist will definitely fetch another decent pick or prospect. The total of the package makes sense if Arz is trying to compile assets.

Huh? He said "a guy that was being offered for free this summer" - I replied that this was 1) not entirely an accurate description of what happened & 2) that this sort of comment was living in the past.

I did not say a single word about Schneider, or even about the trade proposal in this AGM (which I'm fully aware would never be accepted by the Rangers) at any point in time.
