Description
To my friendly Hawks fans and fellow Penguins fans...

Everyone needs to stop the MAF to the Pens madness. If Rutherford were still the GM, then maybe there would a small percent chance of this happening, but he isn't and there's no chance. As I've been banging this home for a while, but the Pens are going to do little, if anything, at the deadline.

Frank Seravalli is as reputable as they come and directly refutes any MAF talk.

Friedman has reported MAF has rejected a trade to the caps multiple times, but I wouldn't be shocked to see you guys get Holtby back.

The AVS are probably going to be the most interesting team to watch at the deadline. It's sounding like they're trying to go all-in, but without giving up too much of quality futures.

I dont think fleury has personally rejected it we are currently hiring a gm atm so I think they arent trying to do a fleury trade till we get our guy and fleury has stated he doesnt wanna get moved anywhere yet so I dont know if its just the caps hed reject atm

Not sure. Just what I read from Friedman and he's probably the most legit as they come. Who knows. I do expect you guys to make a big play for a goalie though.

the avs have 0 interest in MAF, its just the media pushing this idea. Kuemper since December 15-0-2 with a 2.01 GAA, .934 SV% & 3 Shutouts in his last 19 starts since he came back from missing a few games bc of injury...and since then leads the NHL with 15.25 Goals Saved Above Expected. So you know hes been a topflight stud goalie.

Why in the world would the Avs want MAF

I didn't really say they are. I just said in general I expect the AVS to try and go big. I was refuting MAF going to the caps, for now at least.

I dont think they are. They have one of the best teams in the league, one of the best top lines, one of the best Top D Parings and overall D cores, one of the better 2Cs in Kadri playing lights out, Kuemper is looking like a top 10 goalie.

Avs really dont have to do anything, I think the idea of them going big is just click bait by insiders. They arent pushing all their chips into the middle. They dont have to yet. One of the best teams and one of the youngest with their core locked up for multiple years.

They will add but its not the giant blockbuster that people are assuming

You're obviously more wired in than I am with AVS-related media, so I'll take your word for it, but from an outsiders perspective you've had one of the best teams the last few years only to have major letdowns. I mean no rubbing salt by saying that, but just to point out that regardless of how good you guys are, I expect a big move or two to ensure you don't have another major letdown.

The Giroux interest is real, I think they try to make that work, but Sakic is not the type to burn draft picks and top prospects on rentals.

Major let downs....sure in the bubble they got their goalie ran over by Corey Perry and derailed that series. it sucks, injuries happen. Going game 7 with hutchinson with no goalie coming back the next round was rough

The year before that, a brutal call by the refs taking away a goal bc landeskog skate was still on the ice during a line change. Game 7 was determined by a ref, suck.

Last year they played Vegas in the 2nd round...the 2 top teams in the regular season meeting in the 2nd round sucks, someone has to lose

The 2nd round joke gets tossed around a lot here but getting to the 2nd round is not easy, if you look at the amount of teams who have made it there multiple times over the past few years, its not a long list.
You have to be good and lucky to win in this league, avs have had some bad luck to go with their playoff runs. It is what it is

The teams that win are good teams that find a way to go all-in. Penguins, Hawks, Bolts, etc...

There's always going to stuff you mentioned, you mitigate that by going after someone like Girioux or whomever. I don't personally think you need a goalie, but if one is available it doesn't hurt to consider it. Not MAF, but a Holtby or someone like that.

I think we're kind of saying the same thing. Yes, you have by lucky or just have that perfect storm of everyone producing their best at the same time.

I think they add, I just don’t see this all in move, imo they add a lehkonen or a khubalik before they pay the big game rental prices

Francouz has been a solid back up, he had some bad luck with injuries. Avs won’t punish him making him sit in the. Press box now that he’s healthy and playing well again

Haven't really seen anyone pushing MAF to the pens on this site in the last few weeks. Mayne one or two people but not often. Not sure what the problem is lmao. If he agrees to a trade then Washington, Vegas, and maybe Minnesota make the most sense to me

Someone posted one this morning and I see at least one every day. He's put the kibosh on WSH.
