Pittsburgh is in a dire situation this offseason, with lots of free agents wanting to be paid, lots of RFA's, and an overall roster decimation about to take place.

No calling up players with 0 NHL experience

Let's start with the RFA's, and to that, I say bridge all of them. None of them are worth a long-term extension at the moment.

Now for Rust, Malkin, and Letang, Letang reportedly wants to be paid around 8 million, Rust around 6, and Malkin is the only one reportedly willing to take less. In order to retain these three I have done the following:

1. Set up Letang so his contract ends at the same time as Crosby's

2. Given Malkin a 1 year deal so he has an out if he wants it

3. Prayed that Zucker waives his NMC to go to Arizona

4. Given Rust the money he wants (and deserves)

As for a goalie? This is very unlikely but I think they might try and bring back the Flower for one last ride
