I dont understand what the obsession is with Toffoli and Lehkonen.

We need to strengthen our third line. We have no third line and we put too much pressure on the first two lines. Toffoli is good winger that can still play, what he did with Caulfield in the playoffs last year that was their best line. He can easily teach Laf. how to be a better player. Letkonenen is a good two way forward that would be a great fit for the second line. I picture the future lines in a few year is laf and Kridz switch from 1st line to 3rd line. What we need is center prospects which we lack big time.

Part of the reason Laf's assist numbers are so low is because he was stuck on a 3rd line that is constantly rotating in players that cannot finish his passes. Toffoli provides that playoff experience, term on his contract and a good complement to Laf. Idk if MTL is willing to accept Nemeth in the trade, however.

You guys understand that theres better, more important for this team, players available that arent so heavily overpriced right? You guys have this obsession to play Goodrow at 3C, but if youve noticed, thats not the desired use for him on this team. 3C is the position on the 3rd line that needs to be addressed first and most importantly.

Toffoli : 1st + Lundqvist + Kravtsov
Lehkonen : Berard or korzack + 2nd + 4th.
Nemeth and Skinner and 3rd.

I was trying to judge it fairly until the retention on Toffoli.
Even though it's missing a key piece in a C/RD I'd consider sufficient to start a Toffoli trade.
There's just not enough substance to justify the retention, especially as Nemeth coming back should be enough.
Chytil for Lehkonen is a big maybe. The 3rd added might make it reasonable, otherwise it's just a lateral move where we're better off keeping Lehkonen.
Toffoli for Kravtsov and a 1st, with Nemeth included for cap, is probably fair value, but not appealing.
Gauthier is inconsequential here.

It misses value wise due to the retention and quality wise because it doesn't address a need.

Giroux > Toffoli
Jarnkrok > Lehkonen
Copp > Dvorak

...and all 3 of those will come cheaper than the absolute ridiculous prices MTL and their fans want.
