Incorrect. Nils Lundqvist, Zack Jones, and Vitali Kravstov are all available. Just because Vancouver fans would rather have different Ranger prospects doesn't mean every prospect they have is untouchable. You don't like that Schneider and Othmann are not available is NOT a concern for Ranger fans. KEEP MILLER and the Rangers will go shopping elsewhere, like Vegas or Arizonia for a RW.

And how is this relevant to this post? If we trade Miller, it means we are re-tooling…

RD - Fox, Trouba, Lundkvist

Same question people ask about Schneider, because we have Fox and Trouba. The answer for both is this: They come up to the NHL and get valuable experience and playing time without having to be stars and get to learn from the likes of Fox, Trouba, Panarin and Kreider, and when they have matured enough, they REPLACE some of them. Schneider will end up replacing Trouba when his NMC burns off and if Othmann continues to improve like he has, he will replace Kreider, or play RW, or maybe Kreider will slide to RW. But those are bridges you cross when you come to them. If we short sightedly trade Othmann or Schneider, then they never get to those bridges, and Drury is smarter than that.

Othmann plays both wings. He also just turned 19 years old. We have nothing but time and I hope they dont rush another 1st round pick into the lineup again and let him simmer in the AHL for a year. These ELC's will become incredibly important for the Rangers moving forward to skirt the cap.

Whats the plan for Schneider? Hes bumped Lundkvist. Schneider was playing 20+ minutes with Lindgren when Fox was out, it wasnt Nils.
Othmann plays both wings. Also, it doesnt matter, hes gonna play in the AHL next year. I hope they dont make the same mistake with him and rush him.

I know. JT is so great, and Horvat is so great and Boeser is so great, and Hughes is so great, yet they are a 0.500 team. Can't imagine why other teams don't want to give up the moon to acquire your players.

That is flawed logic. By that same logic, McDavid and Draisaitl havent been all that great for the large majority of their careers then either...

I can't speak for other Vancouver fans but for me Miller and Hughes are in the "so great" category, meaning very good - elite players in the league. People on this site saw (likely read, didn't actually see) one off year for Hughes last year and thought he was a one season wonder, he wasent, he's a number #1 defenseman. Some people still say Miller is a second line player, those people obviously havent been following Miller since he joined the Canucks or they are stuck in their own bias from previous viewings when he was with other teams.

As for Boeser and Horvat, I would not consider them to be in the "so great" category, but they both hold good value, Horvat more so than Boeser in my opinion. If I am a contender looking to add a 2 or 3C I would pay a good price for Horvat. He as he has been a very good matchup centre for years now, excels at faceoffs and plays his best in big games. Boeser's injury history would be a minor concern for me, he has been on pace to play over 70 games the last three years (played every game last year), it's his QA that would make me reconsider if I was another team. I don't think Boeser has proven he is worth his 7.5 QO, so unless he was willing to negotiate a a lower cap hit at longer term that QO would some impact on his value, especially to a cap strapped contender.
