Can't see them taking back 3 more years of Pettersson. Not with OEL and Myers already overpaid on the blueline.

Canucks easily decline. Only way Pittsburgh gets Boeser is if they trade Marino

I just don't think a defenceman of Marino's quality and cap hit would be traded by any team.. Canucks have 4 right d's under contract for next year. They need an NHL quality left d in my opinion. I don't know if Rathbone is that guy. This and a 1st for a guy they don't have the cap room to resign is why I offered it. And its Pettersens brother who may snap him out of the funk he has shown. As for Pittsburg, they are in win now with Crosby and Malkin. I think Boeser could help them and they may want to even resign him if they can or just trade his rights after the season.

Canucks would be trading half control over Boesers cap hit, for taking on a over payed blueliner. We have enough of those...
Canucks would pass on this.

Filling holes on the LD is gonna be tough in the off-season. The ufas are pretty uninspiring. I don't mind Pettersson, the contracts not ideal but its not crazy. I

While I don’t think the offer is necessarily terrible value-wise, I find a hard time believing Rutherford will pour more money into an expensive blueline that is already overpaid (unless they are able to trade some of the already existing guys away OR it’s a guy coming in that they really can’t pass up on) … and not only do I think the Canucks can resign Boeser, but I think they could probably work out a term deal that comes under his QO
