The trade makes sense. A lot of weekend chatter around Dumba and Fiala moves. It comes down to the Wild thinking they can replace Fiala easier than replacing Dumba. I don't see how both stay and if both stay I like our long term odds of competing. It will be interesting to see if the Wild make moves at the tdl and what we can do in the offseason in our cap hell situation we put ourselves in. BG has don't an insane job and I'm excited to see the magic he works going forward.
I do think any team that trades for Fiala or Dumba will be giving up a futures without the Wild taking back contracts they don't love. We have guys that can step in and take on roles on this team. Trade Dumba, Calen comes in to fill that gap. It comes down to who fills in for Calen if that happens and I think thats where the trades look to fill.

So I don’t believe Addison can fill the gap Dumba leaves, if you do end up moving Dumba then you’d have to shore up the D corps somehow. Hence my offer sheet on Hague.

But one thing I have seen over this weekend is that you can keep both Dumba and Fiala for next year, although it would be the same tightwire act VGK is doing now and playing a good amount of games short handed. The problem comes when you need to pay Boldy in 2 years but I would be fine pushing that out for the time being.
