How exactly are you getting Athanasiou from Detroit?

Sign him for up to 1.7 mil or so and it will only cost Ottawa a third round pick back to Detroit. Which isn't much for a player like Athanasiou.

To be honest I would sign him for up to 3.4 mil which should put him out of range for the red wings salary wise and would cost Ottawa a second round pick.

No way the wings let Athanasiou go as an RFA for a 3rd. That top 4 will get crushed. Oleksiak is not a great skater, he's just big and not fit for top pairing minutes. Harpur is just as tall, has some offensive upside and he's played pretty well tonight and yesterday so why not use him? I'd rather have Wideman at a cheaper price point. Plus he's better defensively.
Arizona has no reason to help out the Sens with those contracts and Condon is going to be the #1 goalie? I like him as a backup but what if he gets hurt... Driedger isn't ready for that yet I don't think.

Sure it might cost the sens a second rounder and sign him for 3.4 mil. He's worth it for that too but come that time they will know if the red wings can afford 1.7 mil or not. Right now it's not looking good for them salary wise. Sure maybe put Claesson with Karlsson instead they seem to do ok playing together. The coyotes trade would only be worth it if MacArthur gets through the playoffs healthy. Condon has played really well and Dreidger I think if given the chance could do well. He has played well when called upon and maybe more time in NHL games would calm his nerves a bit.

So. You're insinuating that you're offer sheeting andreas Athanasiou for either 1.7 million or 3.3 and you think it can't be matched!?!?

Or you think that's what his trade value is? Either way this is clueless.

I'm sorry but there is no way Vegas will take Ryan at his terrible contract. they will likely sign one of your UFAs instead like wingels or stalberg.

Philly will not give up the rights to Shane G and to think they would do that and give up another D in the same trade is crazy, even if anderson is involved. the all ready are (and have been) weak on Defense. they are looking to build that position not destroy it. plus they could sign ben bishop, ryan miller, Scott Darling, Jonathan Bernier, resign mason, or trade for a lot less. there is no need for them to sacrifice their 2 best defensemen for Anderson.

Athanisou- its possible, but its highly unlikely.

Patrick Eaves for under 3 million is not happening.

Half the guys your trying to trade have no trade or modified no trade clauses. this means that they would need to be traded pre expansion draft, thus weakening any position to trade them. Philly would not take on more NMC contracts, as they have 3 already and existing rostered players they want to protect.

The trade package to Arizona is overvalued by a lot. getting any first round pick for that package would be a miracle.

there is not much here rooted in any reality.
