This is merely an idea, but Seattle does have 3 expendable pieces I think Edmonton could benefit from without spending tooo much in prospects/draft picks.. Fair to say Dreidger hasn't been given enough playing time in Seattle to find a groove therefore bringing his numbers and trade value down. In Edmonton he could platoon with Smith, and if/when Smith gets hurt again bring in Skinner/Konovalev to back him up and get more playing time themselves to develop. Plus with having 2 more years on his deal he can continue to platoon with Smith until Smith's deal is done and also user in one of the 2 mentioned earlier to hopefully takeover when Dreidger's deal comes to an end while still being cost effective.. As for Soucy, he is one of the main pieces for this and next year to solidify the bottom pairing d(although Lauzon has been solid for them too and is cheaper, if Seattle was more in tune with dealing him I'd prob go after him instead, but Soucy seems to be the name that keeps getting brought up) which makes Samorukov expendable and enticing for Seattle to say yes..
Last part is Blackwell, dude played unreal with the Rangers last year, and since returning from injury this year has been really solid, he would be the perfect 3rd or 4th Line Centre the Oilers would be looking for, to also C the 2nd PP unit and play in all situations, AND he's dirt cheap!!
The picks in the deal would be conditional(obviously the 2nd this year is pending the Keith deal, but could be transferred to next season) but condition it to be based on Dreidger's playing time in the playoffs, after 2 round if he plays 50% of the games then the 2nd this year(if Keith's isn't) will go to Seattle, if not defer it to the next draft, with that, the Oilers would get the 4th pick this year too. If the pick is deferred Edmonton would get a 5th from Seattle next season...
From there you can go Winger shopping, which leads into the next deal for a younger winger with a little term leftover on the deal, who could be an upgrade from Yamamoto...
Possibly somebody who has more grit but enough skill to keep up/score with the guys in the top 6 now, like the Domi potential listed.. Condition the pick again, if the Oilers make the Conference finals and Domi plays 50% of the games then give them a 1st this year and rec their 3rd instead of the 4th.. If not pending the Keith condition, give the 2nd this year, or defer to the year or 2 after...

Cost on all 3 of those players would be much higher than what Dreidger would net, and I don't think Varly is available, nor Reimer.. I'm not arguing they are better, but for what it will cost the Oilers to bring them in would likely not be worth it...

Driedger is definition of a small sample size... he's 27 and including this season has 47 total career NHL games played. That contract has every bit of potential to be a Koskinen contract at $3.5mil instead of $4.5mil. As bad as Koskinen has been, he has better stats that Driedger this year and at least has an expiring contract. MAF is a short term fix and a high price but will definitely be available. I don't see guys like Georgiev or Korpisalo as upgrades on Koskinen. Reimer unlikely to be available at a reasonable price. Varlamov would be available from NYI I would think due to his cap hit and extra year of term, Sorokin is their goalie going forward.
