I know Giroux's contrast is inflated but it would definately cost Montreal more than that. Also, not sure if they need any more defensive prospects. They need F's

If Giroux is going to MTL, Galchenyuk is coming back.

I know it's a tough sell to the fans, but the trade would have to sell as....after the 2018 season, the Flyers have 8.2m in additional cap space to spend wisely (minus Sergachov $$$)
Kinda reminds me of the Kessel deal....Leafs in effect got Kapanen but the trade was to relief themselves of 6.8m of the under performing Kessel in Toronto. The fact that Kessel has played very well as a Pen, didn't make it a bad trade for the Leafs. Agree with you, a forward would be preferable for the Flyers.

That first line is terrible. However i think the MTL trade is probably fair but if we retain on Giroux and his cap is max 7mil to MTL I would expect an extra 1st round pick coming back as well. Yeah a top forward prospect would be good, but I don't see any top forward prospect in MTL's pool or AHL that projects to be top line player. The only forward I would want is Galchenyuk and don't see MTL giving him up and that would be a 1for1 trade again with cap retain on G but could MTL afford G on a 7mil cap with plekanec on 6mil Idk, that's when it get complicated.
