Montreal declines

Ya not even close on the habs one. Toffoli is the best player in the trade and the Montreal 1st is the most valuable asset in the trade.

Montreal would protect the first round pick. We would never even get in the top 10 with their pick.

That being said, I don't make that trade if I'm the Rangers.

Would love to get Turcotte though.

If the Rangers suck at developing young, talented forwards, why are you trading for more?

So Habs trade possible 1st overall pick, top prospect and Tofolli and get Laffy, who has done nothing in a year and a half, Chytil and future 1st in not as deep a draft and will not be top 10.

Come on, this is as bad as it gets. Habs not dealing probable #1 pick, top prospect and trading best player for what you are offering.

Just because Laff was taken 1st does not mean he is better than Caulfield. And most people would pick Toffoli over Chytil, so what is in it for Habs?

Habs 1st > Lafreniere
Caufield > Chytil
Toffoli = 1st
Nothing < 2nd

From LA's perspective, I would do that trade even if you downgraded the 1st to a 2nd.

Change name to Making Terrible Moves and it would at least be accurate. Pure nonsense trades from a Ranger point of view.
