Man, as much as I think Mayfield is what the Blues need, Barbashev is just so vital to the Blues success on the PK and in the bottom 6. Blues don't have many that forecheck at his level. Value wise, the trade is even, but if hate to lose Barby.

Yeah I'm kinda at the same spot. Would really hurt to lose Barby with the way he's playing, but cleaning up the defense might be a bigger priority than Barby's role. Not sure if anything else (ex. Bortuzzo + or solely futures, etc.) would be interesting to NYI, I don't know where they are headed.

If the Isles were to move Mayfield they would be looking for draft picks.

The biggest question will be whether NYI will be in a better position. I wonder if the Isles would want a Mikkola or Walman package. It's hard to say with Pullock out for a long time.

I think the Blues would have to be money in = money out for any moves they make this season. Maybe Bortuzzo and pick(s) would work.

St. Louis would have to make an overpayment offer and I do not think you would want to do that.

Yeah I hope they don't overpay, unless it's a move that sends Scandella out the door, he's taking up too much space to be a pylon out there.
