Labanc is a solid option and will come much cheaper!
plus bringing him home and to a better system for his skill could unleash his best abilites for you guys.
But if Toffoli is available I would see what you could get him for!

he really is talented, confidence is his biggest issue! when he plays with confidence his shot is top shelf and his passing ability is well above average. he's gotten better in the defensive zone as well.
His biggest issue now is he isn't the strongest grinding it out on the boards and the sharks are a dump and chase team. so we lose his talent, but on the power play he's one of our best forwards.

I dont agree about Toffoli. I think Lebanc complements what the team needs more than Toffoli. Lebanc, with Kreider and Zib will provide the playmaking that line needs. Zib's goal numbers are down because he doesnt have someone to facilitate the play with them.

The concern here is that the Rangers are very tight against the cap and Im not sure if they can afford to take on a contract that extends beyond this year.

Labanc has no business being on a 1st line. Sure he can rebound back to his 18-19 performance (which was only 36 EV points), but hoping he's going to be a good compliment for Zibanejad is a biiiiig reach for him.

I think labanc is the kinda guy the sharks would be happy to ditch at any price. Rangers are over paying.

Regardless, they need a RW for the Zib line who can control the play and facilitate. I figure Lebanc coming home and all, and having the ability to be a playmaker would work. It sure would be an upgrade over Goodrow and Hunt.

Labanc would be a pure facilitator on that line. You don't need 3 stars on your first line. Kreider has been a star this year and having Labanc with Zibanejad will help Zibanejad return to star form.
