I know Dumolin is playing really good and whatnot but I don't think he comes close to getting you JVR. Also Condon is doing fine for Ottawa in Anderson's absence. No need to trade for an even more expensive goalie with more term remaining.

Fleury has the same term I am pretty sure as Anderson as. And yes Condon is doing fine but right now Ottawa can put itself into a position to contend. Fleury is an established and experienced NHL starter who has won two Cups. Remember, same time about what two years ago it was Hammond carrying this team in Andersons absence. Where is Hammomd now? With Fleury AND Condon, their goaltending is set. Also, the Dumoulin trade is regarding the Pens expansion draft. Of course it can get you JVR. We saw what the price was for a top 6 winger in exchange for a top 4 dman in the Hall trade.

I don't know why Ottawa would want to upset their goaltending situation by trading away Anderson. And DavidBooth, Condon is a UFA, no guarantee he'll be back.
Leafs with cap room can always find a LHD. I'm all in favour trading JVR, but think unless it can really improve the teams need, might as well keep him for one last season.

You aren't getting a much better goalie with money retained and a pick for bad Fleury. Why don't PIT fans get this? You aren't getting jack for Fleury alone.

I agree with ClockRead2113. But Fleury supporters always talk about his 2 Cups and experience. I'll be sarcastic and see the Leafs should have Johnny Bower in net with his 4 Cups and experience. Anderson and Condon (if Ottawa can keep him) look like a great combo in 2017/18.

What other teams might fit with Fleury then may I ask? Obviously Fleury has a NMC so he isnt gonna accept a trade to any team.

As ClockReads and I have suggested.....Why does any team "want to fit Fleury" on their team? He's just not worth being a protected goalie in the draft and there are a better goalies available as UFAs that aren't costing 5.75m a season.
He's untradeable before the draft. And likely after the draft without equally bad money going back to the Pens.

Looking at Miller (NYR) or Schwartz's (STL) bridge deals, that's reads as a huge overpay for Sheary....

That's probably his NEXT contract

I'm 100% sure Ottawa says heck no to that trade. Anderson has an established place in Ottawa, and his wife I believe is in Ottawa and still undergoing treatment for her cancer. Anderson when he has played has been very very strong. I believe he is like 21-8-2 where as Fleury is 17-8-6. Anderson may be older but he is showing much less decline than Fleury has over the past few years. JVR for Dumolin straight up may be a good deal for both teams but Pittsburgh is really shallow on defense.
