Robertson has at no time looked ready to play in the NHL. He was invisible in the pre-season playing against mostly AHL competition when even guys like Engvall managed to stand out in their games. 2 months in the AHL isn't going to change that. He needs time.

I must agree with Byrr, I don't think roberston is ready, much rather have a guy like Brooks on the fourth and Nick on the first line first PP with the Marlies.

he absolutely looks ready for the NHL and he showed that in the pre season, ability to penalty kill, tenaciousness and his ability to get the puck to the net. If you watched what he showed and dont think hes NHL ready based on what he showed i dont trust your player evaluation, he basically got cut for cap reasons and nothing else.

Cut for cap reasons? He doesn't make anything. Maybe now that Mikheyev is LTIRed and Robertson still won't make it to the NHL you'll find your senses.

yes because they dont want to waive brooks or engvall, this is pretty basic to understand. the leafs also like to overripe their prospects, ie sandin, liljegren, nylander, kapanen etc. they always keep them in the minors as long as possible.

also with mikheyev LTIR and Liljegren and brooks on the roster they still cant afford Robertson until they trade dermott

But yet Liljegren is waiver exempt and they could swap him and Robertson to get Robertson games.

I really don't think playing fourth line minutes is better in his development than playing first line minute first line pp on the marlies. The Leafs have lot's of role player to play on the fourth, let the kid develop he is only 20yo
