Crazy unrealistic Eichel trade

Créé par: Oiler3535
Équipe: 2021-22 Maple Leafs de Toronto
Date de création initiale: 8 oct. 2021
Publié: 8 oct. 2021
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Eichel stays on IR until playoffs. If tampa can cheat, so can leafs.

In the future, reilly and kerfoot gone plus kassel hit gone to fit in the cap hit. I know unlikely in the extreme. But fun to imagine. That top 6 better than edmontons.

Fairly confident the NHL is gonna make sure the Tampa situation doesn’t happen again…

Can't unless change the rules. And if do that, they're as good as putting an asterisk next to tampas win.

No, it's not fun to imagine. Leafs would be decimated o a lotta positions in 22/23. 50m in 5 forwards, 10m in two Dmen. 22m for 15 others. Yikes.

Ok but what about next year? We just gonna pretend that a bunch of guys needed raises when you are 10 mil above the cap?

If score 5 every game, can run top 6 20+ minutes a game. Bottom 6 just have to not be black holes. Not hard to do.

Who needs a raise? Reilly gone for sure even in the real world (should have been trade before the draft). Campbell hopefully? Sandin won't get much after playing 3rd pair minutes.

Liljegren is a bust, Robertson is a 3rd liner, Mikayev is a 13th forward that wants out, and 2 picks #25 or later, yeah thats brimming with value

You're right about the picks being low firsts. But maybe Buffalo can do better with those than the high 1sts they're used to. The other 3 you're wrong about. We'll see value once the real trade happens. I doubt they get an A level prospect, and picks will be lottery protected.

Am i wrong about the prospects and theyre actually A level prospects or are the Sabres not getting A level prospects? You cant mash 2 played out excuses together, it doesnt make sense

Robertson is a borderline A level prospect. Liljegren is a B level. Mikheyev is tricky. Before his injury he was a legit top 6 forward. Last year he couldn't shoot. Likely still injury related. Great PK and 3rd line player even if scoring ability never returns.

First off, Zero chance of Adams dealing Eichel within the division. Secondly those scraps don't get Eichel. And thirdly Eichel probably isn't even playing this year. If lucky he might play by the playoffs.

Instead of that asinine first statement you might as well just mash your hands against the keyboard and press send like this: skjhgfsfhdssfcbedvnmhhg

By that logic Olli Jokinen was a bust at the time

At Liljegren's age he just had a 16 point season

So many players peak 24+ it's absurd to ignore that

Clearly when a team is contending for a cup they let their prospects mature while giving old Zach Bogosians the 3rd pair role: it's very common

Liljegren has had elite AHL numbers for his age

He looked very very NHL ready in preseason

And yeah he just turned 22 last April like...

It's just such a waste of everyone's time here to post malarkey like that especially when so many players disprove your statement *ahem* Jack campbell

The Sabres have better d prospects, but yeah just keep waiting, maybe one year he'll put it together. This trade is garbage, and indefensible

First, not a zero chance of anything. Buffalo is so bad, won't be good until Eichel's deal is over. At best.
2nd, not scraps.
3rd, he's extremely likely to play unless surgery goes wrong. Disc replacement only a few months recovery.

Power is not "prospects". They have nobody else in the system likely to be good NHL players. Once you see him traded to Calgary, please come back and point out how the package is obviously better.

I dont know how Power isnt a prospect but Samuelsson, Johnson, Laaksonen and Novikov is already playing in the KHL, added on top of Power, Dahlin, Jokiharju and Bryson, the latter 3 whom are already NHLers, yeah their system is doing quite well actually

Playing in KHL doesn't mean going to make the NHL. If were likely to make the NHL would be here or dominating KHL. And guys on their 2nd contracts can hardly be considered prospects. Not like any of the guys you mention are killing it either.

A. I didnt say he was going to be a superstar, they just drafted him, its too early to make a call, but
B. The KHL is the 2nd highest league in the world and hes stepped in as an 18 year old and will have plenty of time to develop further.
So if youre going to discount him, its simply out of pettiness.
Samuelsson is good enough to step in as a 2nd pair dman now, dont know how thats not killing it, again discounting him because your petty or just have no idea what youre talking about. Ryan Johnson is projected to be a 3rd pair shutdown dman, and hes shown every indication he can be an NHLer in a few years. Laaksonen went from a throw away pick to legitimate contender for an NHL job through hard work, i would say thats killing it. Even though i dont think he will be an NHLer personally im not going to discount his work ethic, he may still suprise a lot of people. You can say that about Liljegren, and thats fine, but thats not someone you trade Eichel for

Note Buffalo is a terrible terrible team. Having potential doesn't make a good prospect. Playing for them isn't killing it. And note that liljegren isn't a 1 for 1 trade.
