Just my prediciton / what I'd like to see happen with the lines and roster.

-Neighbours would be the last cut, back to Edmonton to work on some things and show what he's got at the WJC

- I thought Kyrou would be a nice feature on the ROR line but he looked a little unsure of his role with them. I think he can play with the puck on his stick more on Schenn's line.

- Kyrou with Schenn would open the door for Kostin to take the complementary role with ROR and DP. He is a hard-nosed forechecker and loves to get involved in the play. Could be a real breakthrough for him if he could stick in that spot.

- I think Berube will keep the Thomas line togther; he seems to like the pass, shoot, net drive combination with them. Tarasenko is gonna have to get up to speed though, he can't be slowing them down.

- 4LW isn't the best spot for Brown but I don't think they'll put him on waivers and they'll want him to play.

- I don't see any room for the PTO guys, Neal or Frolik. But Neal may find an NHL job somewhere else if he keeps scoring goals. I just don't know if he's the right fit for a 13th F compared to a guy like Clifford or MacEachern. Frolik might suit that role, but he'll need to have a hell of a camp to push someone out, potentially to waivers/AHL.

- Perunovich makes the team and they roll with 8 d-men. This gives them a solid 2nd PP unit and Faulk and Parayko can eat more minutes at EV and PK. Scandella and Mikkola could rotate into the top4, showing the roster slots isn't as crucial as managing the situational TOI.

- Bonus scorching hot take: Hofer wins the backup role. Not gonna happen, but hey. If anything, Hofer can put the heat on Husso by taking over the no.1 in Springfield. Maybe we see him in the NHL sooner than later.
