I mean BUF doesn’t have to trade him until they get an offer they like, he is under contract for 5 more seasons and it’s not like the situation could get any worse (I think). If they have to look at how the Avs patience was rewarded in the Duchene trade I know it’s a different situation but the only thing absolutely worse than the current situation would be to make a bad trade.

Not that I do not agree, but Eichel has a trade clause that kicks in and muddy's the water. He could make it difficult to trade him to a team he does not want to go and veto the trade.

I like this trade especially bc Eichel got stripped of his captaincy.

That makes his trade value go down even more with that and the injury.

That is seriously ridiculous, how does that effect his value, did he all the sudden become not a top 10 player because he isn’t captain? I mean BUF is obviously petty but do you think they would do something to negatively effect his value in a trade?

he's still a top 10 player just his value was higher when he was a captain and not injured and that gives more space and more room for another big name that isn't injury prone.

Value higher when he wasn’t hurt absolutely. But his value hasn’t changed one iota because the Sabres stripped the C simply because they are being petty. Everybody in the league knows it’s the Sabres way of getting the team to accept he is being moved but it doesn’t under any circumstances change his value you don’t think BUF is so dumb that they would intentionally drop the value of their best player if that were the case?
