I am going to say if this is the team they put on the ice in two years, Tavares will not be a part of it. This offseason will be pivotal for the Isles to convince Tavares they are committed to winning long-term. This team does not accomplish that.

I think what mikeyscav just said is indicative of why we aren't going to be able to trade talent in. Everyone knows Garth is desperate to keep his job and keep Tavares on board. Why do you think Sakic turned down Garth's offer for Duchene, even though Garth matched his offer to the letter? Because Sakic knew Snow was in a tight spot, and that he could feasibly sell Duchene at a rip-off price.

I'm glad we didn't make a TDL move. Anyone we deal with is just going to try to get all of our prospects in exchange for ONE top 6 forward. We're honestly better off hoping Barzal and Ho Sang make a quick impact and convince Tavares to stay. If we make a trade, we're screwed. If we stay put, we're only probably screwed. I'll take the latter
