Good luck retaining Necas and Trocheck with that bloated Hamilton deal on the books. They should have signed him prior to this past season, oh well.

Jarvis is nowhere close to being ready for 1st line minutes.

It’s going to cost a lot more than a 2nd to dump 2 years of Gardiner.

I won’t argue about keeping Ned, that one could look real bad sooner than later.

You can tell RBA wanted more vets. I like the Stepan and Smith signings, cheap enough and good depth, no long term commitment.

DeAngelo could blow up in their faces or be the best signing of the offseason. I tend to think it will work out, and he’ll end up with 35pts or so while behaving himself. I wouldn’t be surprised either way. Personally, I think only one of Bear/DeAngelo will stick in Raleigh, with the other replaced next year by Keane.

If we kept Ned, we wouldn’t have signed Andersen, I’m OK with keeping Raanta as backup.

I still think he’ll be good but it didn’t seem like he was making steps in the right direction last year and the coaching staff lost faith after seeing that. Personally would’ve liked to see another year in a more normal season with a full offseason to get stronger but I can’t really blame the org for getting a solid vet in Cole to hold down the third pair.

I don’t like the move made to trade bean, but I really like Cole, and if we were to keep Cole, Bean would probably end up being the 7th dman. He will have that bigger role that he had wanted which he really wouldn’t be getting in CAR.

I don’t like losing Bean, and I think that move will hurt us really soon, but he really wasn’t performing as well on the defensive side of the game, and his offense wasn’t all that much to write home about either. His defensive deficiencies were shown quite a bit in the playoffs this year. As it stands, it looks as if CAR does not have a defenseman who can quarterback a power play, outside of Gardiner and possibly ADA, both of which are not ideal options. With Hamilton gone, if Bean wasn’t traded, would be the one to quarterback the top power play unit.

Ned over Andersen maybe.

Keeping Dougie and the rest of the team, doubtful. I would rather have the rest of the team. Dougie’s deal will be an anchor quickly

Bean wasn’t very good in his own zone and his shot was soft as Charmin. Im cool with him being moved.
