Sometimes it's hard to follow 3-way trades when they are posted, so I thought maybe having some kind of format would help people get their ideas across in a way others can more easily understand.
Step 1: Acquire all of the assets involved from each team.
This will show what those teams are giving up in the trade.
Step 2: Send all of the assets each team is gaining from the trade.
By comparing each team in Step 1 and Step 2, you can clearly see what went in, and what went out, and weigh them against each
other.
Step 3: Use a final trade to show what the main team has gained and lost in the trade, using an extra random team to avoid confusion with the actual trades taking place.
In this example:
Looking at only the Anaheim trades, we can see they traded Andersson, a 1st, and a 2nd, to acquire Wennberg (from Seattle) and a 1st (from Arizona).
Looking at only the Arizona trades, we can see they traded Beagle, a 1st, and a 2nd, to acquire Andersson (from Anaheim) and a 1st (from Seattle).
In the final trade, we see a summary of what the trade looks like for the main team. Here they traded Wennberg and their first, for two picks from Anaheim and Beagle and a pick from Arizona.
By comparing the left and right columns relevant to each team, we can see exactly what the trade looks like for each team, and easily compare value for evaluating each aspect of the trade.
*Note: I just traded random things in this example, so don't take these as actual trades and tell me how unfair they are. ;)
**Note: If you would suggest doing all of the parts involving each team in order, that's not possible because you won't have all of the assets required to do step 2 with the 1st team until you have done step 1 with the 2nd team as well.
Send the assets which would be acquired by team 2 (Arizona)
5.

Copy/Paste the items acquired in step 1 which were not moved in step 2. These are the assets that the current team (Seattle) gained from the 3-way trade.
