1- Oi vey... no, there were not reports saying this. There was Elliot Friedman saying "he heard" something like this without any sort of sourcing at all, and then him saying he doesn't know which teams, he doesn't know if New Jersey were a team that felt this way, blahblahblah nonsense. I've already typed up and posted the exact quote numerous times, and every single person I typed it up for said "Oh okay, that's not any sort of report."

2- The Blues likely exposed him for three reasons. First, it was prior to the free agency period, so they would have had more ammo to steal Landeskog from Colorado, which is what they were hoping to do. Secondly, Army probably knew they would take Dunn anyway, but he gave it a shot to try and keep him. Finally, by doing so, Army can tell Tarasenko's buttpain agent that he tried to let him go free, thus getting him off his back.

As for netting this much, I'm fairly sure this AGM poster does not actually speak for the Devils, who would not actually offer this much.

Even with Tarasenko playing, I still wouldn't give up those assets for Tarasenko either. Having 4g 10a in 24gp (14g 34a pace) is good, but him costing $7.5m just has to bring the price down on who is willing to trade for him. The Devils should just see what they other before another big deal.
