That term is too long for that money. Zadorov should be getting nothing more than a cheap two year contract right now, because he has been very inconsistent the last few years. He was a good defender who was good in both ends of the ice. Then his first year with Chicago, he had a big negative value in the offensive zone while just being ok defensively. Then this last year, he was very good defensively, while still being negative offensively.

He was asking for 5.85 x 5 in CHI. This is a discount (in his standards)

I heard he asked for 4.5M, I don't think he is worth 3.5 so I hope they go to an arbitrator and just sign a 1 year deal. Zadorov had a decent year in Chicago but was also carried a lot by Murphy. He still takes bone headed penalties and can't really skate well. IMO he's just there as someone who can play top 4 minutes until Valimaki pushes him down to the 3rd pair

I like the idea of trying to separate Johnny and Monahan, I think sometimes you get a little too comfortable so definitely worth a try.

Maybe swap Mangiapane and Coleman? Lindholm line can be a pure offensive line, Monahan line can be a great two way line, same with Backlunds line.

Swap Lewis for Gawdin or Ruzicka and have Ritchie and Lewis split time.
