Flyers could be anywhere from 1-7 in the division mostly depending on what Carter Hart we get.
Devils are gonna be a lot better than everyone expects, however they don't do better than any of the 6 teams in front of them.
Capitals I thought this last year and I was wrong but I'll take another shot at it, they're getting older and are losing players to keep the core together. Im also not convinced about their goaltending.
Rangers are getting the benefit of the doubt over Washington only because of Gallant (though Drury certainly doesn't deserve it).
Boston I think Sweeney finds a way to turn Coyle into a decent 2C, thats why they're in front.
Florida is better and deeper than Toronto and though their goaltending isn't anything to write home about, it's better than Toronto's.
Toronto the goaltending isn't up to par though their offense gets them to the playoffs before they get destroyed by Boston in the first round.
Montreal is this year's version of the 20-21 Dallas Stars.
Minnesota without a 1C I don't think they can hold up in a very underrated division. They do get the first wildcard but its a step back from last year.
Winnipeg is a team i really like and with a revamped defense I think they can be a really good team.
Dallas a healthy Tyler Seguin with a full offseason couple to put them where they belong.
Chicago makes the playoffs as the 8th seed even though I'm not sold on Jones or their LD. I still think they're better than St Louis though.
Vancouver had a solid offseason IMO, I love the Dickinson trade and think their D will be better. I think the Vancouver we saw in the bubble is more like the one we will see this year than the one last year.
Edmonton had a terrible offseason somehow their D got worse and their goalies didn't change. Their top 6 will carry them, but there's only so far they can go with that back end.
Los Angeles makes a push to get to the playoffs and just misses out to both Calgary and Chicago.
Seattle's lack of centers and offense in general become a big problem for them. Also Grubauer isn't gonna be anywhere near where he was last year IMO.
It's going to the so hard to predict how good teams actually are. Playing the same 7 or 8 teams last season put certain teams at huge advantages and disadvantages. Sure Florida was good but they also only had 2 other good teams in their division. Chicago was half decent but was wrecked by Tampa, Florida and Carolina. Vancouver was terrible but was in a division with teams with really good transition offence who produced a lot of rush chances. Now that teams play everyone again. Some teams will benefit more than others and it will be interesting to see who really benefited and was disadvantaged by the divisional play.

really too early to tell with chris drury and he did hire gallant

HOW DOES A TWENTY YEAR OLD AND AN OLD TEN MILLION DOLLAR BACKUP QUALIFY AS BETTER THAN MRAZEK AND CAMPBELL?
Bc Campbell had a andrew hammond type run and knight is a top prospect who showed a lot of promise last season. Petr inconsistent Mrazek isnt going to be the next Patrick Roy just because he came to Toronto.

And he was ass the rest of the offseason. Terrible goodrow deal and bad buch deal. If he gets shesty on a bargain then maybe but so far he most certainly hasnt earned the benefit of the doubt.
I don't think the Jets, Canes, Bruins and Canucks will be as good as you think they will be.
Conversely, I think the Blues, Capitals, Devils (!!!) and Oilers will do better.
I also think the Leafs will do better than the wild card but I'm a Leafs fan sooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Like I said I believe in the devils. But heres the question. Which team were they behind here that you think they'll be ahead of? The fact that the devils are the 7th team just shows how good the metro is.
Thats a pathetic take. Everyone is gonna give their team the benefit of the doubt, even you. He acknowledged that he might be thinking this bc it's his team.
Really go outside or something, but if you do, dont scream at the kids to get off your lawn.

I never said you did. Im defending a good and reasonable take by @mondo even though I dont agree with it. You see some of us are able to disagree about something in an intelligent way.

Gonna say the Pens and Rangers.
I don't think the full season is going to be great for Pittsburgh and I their Jarry/DeSmith tandem isn't going to do them any favors. I also don't have a high opinion on the Rangers offseason so far. I think the Devils acquisitions and overall roster can surpass both of them.
Also the Flyers but I agree with your comment that they could really finish anywhere between 1st and 7th.

I think with gallant behind the bench you'll see growth from the rangers prospects like kakko and lafreniere in particular. As for Pittsburgh their top end talent is so much better than Jersey's, I have them making the playoffs even. I could see Washington being that team but I don't for the same reason that their high talent is just better. But the devils are for sure a playoff team in the pacific.
