MAX Eichel offer before surgery

Description
The problem with Eichel is according to his surgeon in the interview with Eliot Freidman, only 70% of NFL players who have had the disc replacement surgery have returned to the NFL since no NHL player has ever had the surgery you have to take thatas the comparable. That means Eichel has a 30% chance of not returning, that for me is too much of a gamble. Also IF we trade for Eichel our cap is screwed and we will have a hard time signing Suzuki and Caufield

Anderson isn't a cap dump, Farrell is not an unknown prospect he is actually quite known since he has put up 101 this past season in the USDHL. Just cause Montreal drafted him before he became a known player doesn't make him less valuable. Any Yes that is the most I would give up since there is a 30% chance he never returns to the NHL (based on the comments made by his Dr. With Eliot Freidman. Read description above for more details)

5.5 mill for a guy who had 24 points in 52 games and 6 points in 22 playoff games is a massive overpay. if our Captain and best dman werent injured we wouldve won the series surely. Dylan Strome had 110 point in 55 OHL games and hes a third line centre at best, ur junior stats dont 100% mean success in the NHL.

Calling Anderson a cap dump is the funniest thing Ive heard in a while. Perhaps if you had him, you could win a playoff series

He scored 24 points in 52 reg season games and 6 points in 22 playoff games, and hes making only 1 mill less than Nylander. But wow hes physical and fast so he deserved 5.5 mill. If we werent missing JT (who would be the best player on ur team) and Muzzin we wouldve surely won the series.

In his back. Not in his neck

Yes you are right. It was Bertuzzi's back. But please take a look at the link and you will see there is nothing ground breaking about it. They stopped doing them because the material the artificial discs were made of kept breaking down. So the only thing new is the artificial disc itself.

I added to my post check out the link above.

I don't see anything on Tyler Bertuzzi having ADR, I was just going off of the interview with Eichel's surgeon who said no NHL player has ever had ADR.

He said it was terrible, i said it doesnt stand out. I was defending you!

You said "B) players that dont fit any needs for a rebuilding team thats light on forwards and stacked on left shot d." I thought you were saying there were no forwards and just a bunch of D prospects my apologies

So 2 cap dumps, one average prospect one unheard of prospect, and two picks for a top-15 player...nice

Uhmmm sick take bud.

First, they aren't two caps dumps, nor is Farrell unheard of. Maybe you just didn't even bother looking into him. There are many prospects on teams I don't follow who seem "unheard of" and then turn out to be studs. Like I had never heard of Guentzel until he was lighting **** up! Doesn't mean he was irrelevant. I just never had a reason to look into him. But I would have done so before dismissing him as basically a meaningless prospect for the mere fact that I, very notably NOT an NHL GM, hadn't heard of him.

Second, even if Anderson and Byron are considered as 2 cap dumps (some could argue that they are both a little bit overpaid), they are both still very useful and serviceable NHL players. Poehling is looking much improved over the last couple of years, and I think he just needs a change to play C with a couple of good wingers. Or he could play on the wing with a C already in the Sabres organization. As for Farrell, assuming he continues on his improvement trajectory, Buffalo may he able to get a 1st Rounder+ if they decide to trade him at any point next season.

Third, and this goes to the start of the second point, Buffalo has to reach the Cap Floor somehow. It's there for reason. You = 👨‍🦯🤷‍♂️🤯🙄🤦‍♂️

Sabres decline. Plenty of NHL players have had disc herniations and a number of players have had fusion. So good work on getting your info wrong...

First, have any players of Eichel's caliber done fusion surgery on their necks? I'd understand if it was in the back. Losing a bit of movement/flexibility in one portion of the back is not as big of a deal as it is in the neck.

Second, if surgeries to fix the herniated discs in NHL players are so routine, then why do the Sabres have such a risk management mindset that they want to maximize their return for him in a trade before he even gets a surgery? But seriously, injuries happen. It happened to Buffalo's star player. Both the team and the player seem to want to part ways. But the Sabres seems to be demanding that any trade partner is the one who needs to assume all the risk for the injured player. But he's a Sabres player, and the Sabres should have to assume the risk. Either let him get the surgery & trade him for the higher asking price after he fully returns to form (with the risk of him never returning to form), or trade him prior to surgery for much less than said higher asking price because his future capabilities are still somewhat in question. Those are the options. Instead, they're asking for the best of both options, which would leave their trade partner taking on all the risk.

Right now, the Sabres are sending complete opposite messages. The return for which they are asking in a trade is essentially based on the expectation of a 100% recovery to his previous playing form. But how they're dealing with the surgery situation indicates they are not confident enough in a 100% recovery to trade him at the end of his post-op recovery.

All of this plus the fact that Eichel's NMC kicks in after the 21-22 season which means that he can select any number of teams to waive his NMC for thus further limiting Buffalo's options. So the way I see it Buffalo is running out of time. They need to decide if they are going to sell lower right now, wait and let him have his preferred surgery and recover then sell high later in the season or at the TDL, or wait until next offseason or later and have Eichel choose one or two teams to waive for thus lowering his value significantly. Personally if it is me I would choose option 2 but I am not Adams so who knows what he will choose. I guarantee though if they pass the TDL and Eichel has not been traded the Sabres will get less value than they did with O'Reilly.

Have you heard of Farrell yet? Try reading the following link and keep in mind that Jack Hughes is the only other player in the history of the league to post 100+ points! Guess he isn't quite an unheard of prospect now huh!
