As much as I hate to say it, (because McD is involved) Leafs decline. They're in no better position cap wise and EDM is getting way too much future here.

I think if you take out the goalies and Amirov is a done deal. Toronto would make so much money off jersey sales the ownership group might make them take it

The last thing Toronto worries about is Jersey sales lol. That team makes more $$ per home game than anyone else in the league, and playoff games are outrageous. They're in a 50+ year Stanley Cup drought, and trading this much talent for The best player in the world and 3 cap dumps isn't gonna get us there any quicker. Overall talent level would be worse and still no cap space to fix it.

better if he leaves on his own. And he will once his contract is up. Ken Holland pretty much solidified that with his draft and off season transactions. Passing on the goalie of the future, signing Ceci to a 4 year deal over 3 mil, going into next season with the same crappy tandem in net, Duncan Keith? That's not a recipe for success.
I'm hoping he brings a cup back to EDM, but he only has 5 more years to do it,
