Deadline Dealin

Créé par: bigbrit93
Équipe: 2016-17 Bruins de Boston
Date de création initiale: 22 févr. 2017
Publié: 22 févr. 2017
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
NYI: Gives us another solid offensive d-man who I think would thrive on the way Cassidy is running the defense.

ARI: Get a young talented (yet inconsistent) winger, and give up a good tough d-man and a big-bodied winger on a down year.

TBL: Get a very good goalie to back up for a deep playoff run (Khudobin scares me and Rask's groin has me nervous even though he's played well the past 2 weeks on it). Give the Lightning the potential back up goalie for the next few years, and O'Gara who showed he could possibly handle NHL play. Whether or not the Bruins go deep in the playoffs, they let Bishop walk at the end of the year.

1) So you want Arizona to take our cap dump and give up a player and a draft pick for it?
2) I like the Liles trade (if you can get someone to bite).
3) If Bishop is dealt at the deadline Tampa will get a lot more for him. All you are giving up here is two unproven prospects and a 2nd.

While ARZ would be a cap dump for the Bs, I do think both of those players could provide value to the Coyotes.

Actually he's right. I just went and checked, and they're already 2.3 mil over the cap with Datsyuk and Pronger's salaries on the books. They would need a cap dump of their own as well for that to work. I had no idea they were that high in cap, I thought they were constantly the team taking on cap to reach the floor.

They have 5 million in space if they utilize LTIR. I must have looked at it wrong.

Yes, once you factor in LTIR. They are over before that and not looking to add more salary. They are looking to dump it. Maybe if they get that done they'd take on more but it doesn't really makes sense for them to, the players they'd be salary dumping would be better than the players they'd be taking on in this deal. If the return was worth it for them to take on others unwanted salary....sure. But giving up young cheap player and a pick for average vets with 6m in contracts no picks no prospects doesn't have much appeal to them. At least it shouldn't anyway.
