I want Ottawa to push for Eichel, but at the same time, I just can't justify trading the 2022 1st. If they get 82 games of Jack Eichel they might squeeze out a playoff spot if they get goaltending. Realistically though, Eichel will miss a good chunk of the year and Ottawa is just not quite ready to seriously push for the playoffs without a player like him in this lineup. I'm just not sure I'm comfortable trading a 1st knowing it's very likely to be a Lottery pick and knowing just how good Shane Wright could be.

I get what your saying, but any trade for him is probably going to look like an over pay. However what ever team trades for Eichel will win the trade simply because they get the best player in return.

All because somone was drafted in the first round doesn't me they carry a first round value. Based on ownership wanting him in the western conference, I think the asking price from Ottawa, Montreal, or Boston will have to be substantial. The feeling now is eichel will be on the Sabres this year, so when he returns from surgery his value will be higher next offseason.
