This is basically Palat katchouk a 3&5 for forsberg. WTF does JBB even remotely consider doing these foolish moves?
Edit TB takes on cap gives up assets to make a lateral move (at best) in quality of player

Because palat is declining and we’re able to upgrade him and hopefully resign him after this year, palat is basically a cap dump but still has some value, that’s y I added picks to acquire the first. So from the preds POV they are trading their best foward for a b level prospect a first and a declining palat. Jbb won’t do this however it’s interesting to think about even though it will be hard to resign him next year

You're delusional if you think Palat is declining

Have you looked at MN? If Kaprizov leaves they need to just fold up shop and tank for the next 4 years until they have cap space.

MN will have $12.7m, 14.7m, and $14.7m in dead cap in 3 of the next 4 years. They have no superstars, a 2C as their best center, a weak d-corps, and a questionable prospect pool. Even with Kaprizov they are at best 4th, on paper, in the Central currently (COL, DAL, and STL are all better).

All that dead cap and the good prospects need development time. It's just the time to sell do a rebuild, not try and put band aides on the roster by trading away futures; if MN loses it's superstar.

No that dead cap doesn’t become unmanageable for 2 years that’s when you rebuild. Right now u go for it while u still have everyone under contract.

Oh come on. Lateral move at best? Look at the past 4 seasons...

Palat: 30 years old, 156 points in 244 games. 0.64 pts/game
Forsberg: 26 years old, 194 points in 233 games. 0.83 pts/game

When you take into consideration who their line mates have been during that stretch, it's easy to see who the better player is. I highly doubt NSH plans to trade Forsberg, but if they do it would have to be a package they couldn't pass up. They easily decline this.
