The ducks trade favours the ducks big time. No way the leafs include their 2017 first in any deal I wouldn't think, Kapanen (who is having a good season on the farm, looks like an NHL winger) and JVR who is a legit first line LW who will give you around 60 points, and retain half his salary, for this package! JVR is better than Silfverberg, and getting Montour does not equal Kapanen, a first and a downgrade on the wing. I would think JVR alone can get the leafs Montour or Vatenen.

You could argue that Montour and Kapanen are equal. JVR and Silfverberg are equal, so why are the Leaf giving up a probable lottery pick?

Fair enough I would say that Montour given his position and Kapanen's injury favours Toronto. Silverberg is cost controlled and is a top-line RW at the moment but JVR is better and a needed position for them LW so advantage Anaheim. I figured the Draft pick would be required to pry a cost controlled young D, however you could top-3 protect it as I'm assuming its not a top-10 pick.
